## **Annual report for year ending 31 August 2025** 

The One World Group Oxted is a registered charity 295800 administered by a committee of trustees comprising:

Other trustees for the year were: Paul Belok, Barbara Buxton, Rosemary Dalziel, John Leslie, Shaun Mundy, Stuart Paterson, David Wickham. 

## **Objectives** 

The objective of the charity is to raise funds to finance projects in developing countries for the relief of poverty by giving people the means to help themselves and their communities. Schools, clinics, orphanages and farms as well as water projects are the main targets of our funding. 

Members of the charity are informed regularly about the progress of the funded projects and the newsletters aim to raise awareness of the problems of poverty faced in the developing world. 

We always seek personal contacts for projects and the documented proposals and we always obtains feedback and evidence of correct fund transfers and project completion. We are not affiliated to any religious or political groups. 

## **Membership** 

As at the end of August 2025 we had 357 members who pay an annual subscription.  Our annual subscriptions income was £1850  which almost covered our administrative costs. £1931. 

## **Receipts** 

Total receipts through donations, fund raising events and gift aid amounted to **£52,420** . Of this our fund raising events listed below raised £27,442 similar to the previous year  (£27,827). Personal donations totalled £4,924 ,legacies £12,338 and HMRC gift aid refunding amounted to £2,868 which along with subscriptions and some smaller donations totalled £24,978. 



The Silent auction was attended by 112 people and raised £6,200. The Open Gardens event raised £8,854 and the Christmas appeal raised £9,239 which was used to build two brick and concrete classrooms for the Jubilee school in Nakuru City, Kenya to accommodate 70 pupils in an area of abject poverty. A quiz event raised £1276. A tombola at a local village fayre raised £1117 and a street collection raised £749. 

## **Projects** 

We donated **£36,857** to thirteen projects in seven countries,  78% of that went to projects in Africa. Notable projects in addition to the Jubilee school classrooms included rain water tanks for two schools in Masaka ,Uganda . We funded 40 chairs and 4 tables for a school in Nairobi for disabled children. We funded a water borehole in Kalati, Malawi for an orphanageand community centre which helps 1000 people.We also funded a water borehole for an orphanage in Zimbabwe. We helped All Ears Cambodia with medical equipment to provide consultations to assist with curing hearing problems . 

The details including financial reporting are included in our bi-annual newsletters and also in our AGM . 

## **Finance** 

Total receipts for the year were **£52,420** and total payments were **£38,788** . The surplus was £13,632 , which together with an opening bank balance of £16,355, we ended the year with a closing bank balance of **£29,987** .
