The One World Group Oxted is a registered charity 295800 administered by a committee of trustees comprising:

Objectives
The objective of the charity is to raise funds to finance projects in developing countries for the relief of poverty by giving people the means to help themselves and their communities. Schools, clinics, orphanages and farms as well as water projects are the main targets of our funding.
Members of the charity are informed regularly about the progress of the funded projects and the newsletters aim to raise awareness of the problems of poverty faced in the developing world.
We always seek personal contacts for projects and the documented proposals and we always obtains feedback and evidence of correct fund transfers and project completion. We are not affiliated to any religious or political groups.
Membership
As at the end of August 2024 we had 356 members who pay an annual subscription. Our annual subscriptions income was £1755 which covered our administrative costs.
Receipts
Total receipts through donations, fund raising events and gift aid amounted to £41,874 . Of this our fund raising events listed below raised £27,827 similar to the previous year (£27430). Personal donations totalled £6,302 and HMRC gift aid refunding amounted to £3,739 which along with subscriptions and some smaller donations totalled £14,047.
The Silent auction was attended by 100 people and raised £6,817. The Open Gardens event raised £7,796 and the Christmas appeal raised £10,900 which was used to build eight boreholes for water in SW Tanzania. A bingo evening raised £934. A tombola at a local village fayre raised £1072 and a street collection raised £332.
Projects
We donated £65,198 to nineteen projects in 12 countries, a record sum for a year and 85% of that went to projects in Africa. Notable projects included eight water boreholes in Tanzania, for both schools and villages. A toilet block for a school in Kenya, school furniture for a school in Ghana, a health training programme in Uganda, forty bunk beds for a school dormitory in Uganda, a metal working workshop in a school in Malawi and furniture for a school in Bangladesh and finally bunk beds and mattresses for an orphanage in Jaipur, India.

Finance
Total receipts for the year were £41,874 and total payments were £66,954 . The deficit was £25080, but there was an opening bank balance of £41,435, so we ended the year with a closing bank balance of £16,355 .
