Appointment of Trustees
Trust¢¢s are appoinied by the aft¢r int¢rvi¢w and due considerdtion of their skills and abiliti¢s to fulfil th¢
objectives of the ¢haTity, subject io approval at the following annual general meeting. At each AGM any trustee
appointed since the last AGM, iog¢ther with the longesi serying one third of the remaining trusiees, retires but may
offer themselves up for re¥¢l¢ction.
To the extent necessary to fulfil th¢ir role. new trustees aTe inslNc¢¢d by the existin8 t￿￿te¢s. ond if specifically
required, will be provided with ¢h¢ fa¢ililies to undertake additional trainin8.

The ttustees have caTTi¢d out 8 revi¢w of the risks which the ¢h¥rity may face. They are 5alisfied that the procedures
under which ihe chaTity opera¢¢S will miii8aie any risks identified and will minimise any potential impact should any
identified risks materiali5e.
Th¢ thjstees are of the opinion that th¢y hav¢ complied with their duty to h)v¢ due regard to the guidance on publi¢
benefii published by the Charities Cornmi55ion in ¢xercisin8 their powers and duties.
OBJECTIVES
Th¢ charity was established to promote, m8intaift, improve and advance education, particularly musical education,
and to ¢neourage the Arts, including the arts of rnw4i¢, dram& mime, dance and singing to fom)ulate, prepare and
establish s¢hemes therefore* provided that the obj¢¢¢s of th¢ company should be of 4 ¢haritable nature only.
The ¢harity aehieves its objective5 by way of mpkin8 grants of £l,l)00 and £2.(M)O to musi¢ SDJdents at Universities in
Great Britain. The trusttts seek nominations from the Universilies for su]￿ble candidate5 to r¢ceive a grant based on
an as5¢5sm¢ni by ihe individual Universities of their nomin¢¢$' musical achievements.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
The ¢haTity received donalions during the year of £78,31X) and Benerated a firther £13,191 from funds held in an
investment fimd out of which grants tothlling £16,325 were awardcd. After deductin8 overhead costs ther¢ was a
surplus of £73.892 which. aft¢r refleetin8 the surplus on the reva]uation of the investments of £32,397, leav¢s an
increase in th¢ ch￿ity'S reserves. There are no reslTiCtion5 on th¢ clwity's P)w¢r l¢) invest 3nd thc inYe5ttnent
strategy is set by th¢ tr￿lee$.
