Future Plans:

There are a number of smaller projects that we will contribute to in the coming year including developing our forest school offerings.

Controls:

The board of Trustees and Committee operate the Charity in accordance with the governing constitution. Sub Committees are formed to control various fundraising events through the year and report to the main Committee and Trustees at its quarterly meetings. The Trustees and Committee determine where the Charity will support the school through consultation with the teaching staff and Head Master.

Trustees are elected at the AGM each year.

Accounts:

The Trustees are responsible for the accounts and accounting records of the Charity. All accounts are submitted to an independent review.

Reserves Policy :

The Trustees have a reserve policy of £3,000, this is to keep funds available to meet any unexpected request and to ensure deposits and other expenses prior to events can be met. As at 31st August 2024 the reserve stood at £11,063. At year end the reserves held are greater than the policy due to fundraising against the hall lighting project which was incomplete. This project has been completed post year end and reduced the reserves to a level closer to this policy figure.

The Trustees approve the accounts and the Trustees Report.

ACCOUNTING POLICIES

The Charity constitutes a public benefit entity as defined by FRS 102.

Income from events is considered to arise from the activities performed by the Charity to meet its objects and are therefore allocated under ‘Income from charitable activities’.

Donations receivable for specific purposes are credited to the Statement of Financial Activities in the year to which they relate as soon as conditions for receipt have been met.

All expenditure is included in the accounts as soon as it is incurred. The irrecoverable element of Value Added Tax is included with the item of expense to which it relates.

All funds are unrestricted.

The Trustees assess whether the use of going concern is appropriate, i.e. whether there are any material uncertainties related to events or conditions that may cast significant doubt on the ability of the Charity to continue as a going concern. On review, the Trustees have concluded that they are to adopt the going concern basis in preparing these financial statements.
