It derives from bequests by former parishioners of St. Luke's Church Old Street and its former daughter parishes.Grants are conditional on residence in the closely defined area of benefit which does not extend west of St. John St, north of City Rd, nor east of Paul St.
Objects: To Relieve Either Generally Or Individually Persons Resident In The Area Of Benefit Who Are In Conditions Of Need, Hardship Or Distress By Making Grants Of Money Or Providing Or Paying For Items Services Or Faclities Calculated To Reduce The Need, Hardship Or Distress Of Such Persons. Area Of Benefit - Ecclesiastical Parish Of St. Luke, Old Street With St. Mary, Charterhouse And St. Mary, Charterhouse And St. Paul, Clerkenwell As Constituted In 1959 And That Part Of The London Borough Of Islington Comprising The Area Bounded On The West By Goswell Road, On The North By Lever Street, On The East By Central Street Ond On The South By Seward Street.
