reviewed and systems have been established to mrtigate

The rtl'ectives of the Group are as a unrt of the Scout
Associabon.
The Mm of The Scoth Assoaation 15 to promote the
development of young people in achieving their full physical,
intellectual. social and spintU81 potentials, as indrviduals, as
reSPon￿bIe atszens and as members ol their local, natsonal and
intemats.onal communit￿. The method of achKgving the Aim o
the AS￿at￿n is by provNding an enjoyable and attractive
schem& of prog￿$s￿e training, based on the Scout Promise
and Law and guided by adult leadership.

To meet the chantys obje¢tNes, the group provided a diverse
"Skills for Lrfe" Pfogiamme across all four secb"ons, including
the successful integrats.on of the Squirrels seth.on followng rts
Lqunch in September 2023. The year featured a strong
emphasis on outdoor adventure, the Scouts attending
camps at Boyd and Thriftwoc*d, the Beavers compleb'ng a
residentk81 at Wymondley Woods, and the Cub$ Vis￿"D9 Bodes
Activity Cenlre. Our young people also made a significant social
impact through communty InitsatNes such as collecling for the
Luton F¢J)dbank. raising £50 via a"Grow your own Basil"
project. and perforyning c4roFs for residents at Lewsey Court.
Beyond these actmties, the programme Included youlh-shaped
badge V*vrk In first aid, CC*)king. and water acts'vities at Luton
H¢)0, while the Trustee Board ensured a safe environment by
overseeing a full roof ffjplacement and the Installat￿ of energy
efficient LED I￿htsng at the S¢out hut

Achievements and performance
During the reporting period. the group achieved significant
success In youth awards, wth t￿r Scouts eaming their Chief
Scout Gold Award and several others, induding our newest
Squirrets, nearing their respecbve top awards Our outdoor
programme Nfds a major highlighl featuring a successful
summer camp al Thril￿v¢Od for Scouts, a residential at
Wymondley W¢x*Js for Beavers, and a cub camp at Boyes
Activty Centre. The group also demonstrated a strong
commiknenl to the Ic￿1 ¢ommunity by performing carols for
re$Klents at Lewsey Court. parts'cip*J'ng in the Remembrance
serv￿e. and raising fvnds for charity through initsats"ve$ like the
"Grow your ovm Basil" project and Luton Foodbank ￿lIec￿.0ns.
From an infrastnjcture perspecbve, we reached a major
milestone by compleb'ng a full roof repLac*menl and installing
energy-effictent LED lighbng and soundproofing in the Scout
hut. These achievements were underpinned by a solid financial
perf0m)an￿. including ra￿ng over £1.200 from a raffle, £833
through a volunleer haw-marathon, and securing £3,484 in
grants to ensure the group's long-tem suslainability

The Group's wlicy is to maintain sufficient finanaal resources
to ensure the c#)nb'nuity of scouting activities shoukl regular
income or lundraisirvJ fall short. The Group Twstee Board has
deteMii￿d thal the ideal reseNe level should be equwalent to
12 months of net running ￿sts {after membership fees} plus
an addibonal £10,OLKI specrficalty deswJnaled for emergency
building repairs. Followng the successful Complet￿ of the
major rc4)f ￿placement project this year, the target reseNe
level is approximatety £25.000. At the end of the financial year,
the group held reserves of approximatety £31.000, which
exceed$ our target and prOV￿e5 a secure foundabon for future
growth and equipment renewals. The board V￿11 conb.nue to
monrtor these levels to ensure M￿muM value 1$ obtained from
our banking artaThJements while maintaining a Iow-risk
