Activities

The Palmerston Forts Society acts as a forum for research on the Victorian Fortifications of the Portsmouth area and the U.K. A journal is published each year. The Society arranges work parties and educational programmes of lectures, talks and visits to forts. A section of the Society is the Portsdown Artillery Volunteers who regularly perform authentic Victorian gun drills and firings.

Objects: The Objects Of The Society Is The Advancement Of The Education Of The Public In The History Of Fort Nelson And Other Victorian Fortifications. In Paritcular By Supporting And Assisting The Improvement Of The Fortifications For The Public Benefit.
