Annual Report for Charity Commission 2020-2021
The Committee consists of the following Individuals Mrs C Aldridge (Chairman) Mr T Aldridge (Vice- Chair) D Wyett (Treasurer) Mrs M Hall (Secretary) Mrs E Drain Natalie Burns
The committee oversee the running of the Community Centre but does not organise any of the functions that take place. We supply the building and facilities for various groups to use. At the time of 31/03/2021 we had the following groups that were hoping to return on a regular basis but of course Covid had a large effect on what we did.
Whist Drive, Karate, Street Dance School (multiple sessions), Dog Training, Puppy Training, Church Services, Slimming World (two sessions), Mucky play for toddlers (2 sessions). A Get Together Club runs functions several times during the year. Whist Drive and Mucky play failed to survive the Covid lockdown)
The centre has become a popular venue for children's parties at weekends. Some regular meetings and informal gatherings also take place.
The centre is also used as a Polling Station when required.
The Job Retention Scheme and Grants from Medway Council allowed us to carry on employing two of our three part time caretakers. We were able to reopen for a short time during this period but had to close again.
The hall has been re decorated and the Gents toilets have been refurbished whilst closed to hirers.
