For the period ending 5[th] April 2021
References and Administration Details
Charity Name: Provincial Grand Mark Lodge of Kent Charity Fund Other Names: Kent Provincial Grand Mark Lodge Benevolent Fund Kent Mark Benevolent Fund Registered Number: 294182 Principle Address: 14 Reed Avenue Orpington Kent BR6 9RX Trustees: Perri Ahmet (Chair) Dr. John Peter Shervington Howard Francis Doe David William Walter Stiff Peter Derek Lapage
Structure, Governance and Management
Governed by Trust Deed dated 29[th] January 1986
The Fund is constituted as a Trust and the Trustees are elected by the members of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Kent
Objectives and Activities
The object of the Charity, as set out in the governing document, is to provide relief to poor and distressed brother masons, or their poor and distressed widows and children, or for the benefit of Masonic charities or other charitable institutions, societies, or objects.
During the year under review, grants were made of £26,063.00
Achievements and Performance
Donations to the Fund have seen a further reduction due to the Covid 19 Pandemic which resulted in a suspension of masonic activity which ended fully in September 2021. The attendance at our members meetings remains low and confidence to return to normal proves challenging. It is the members who wholly contribute to the fund, and we are
beginning to see a return to normality in the last 3 months of this financial year. Grants approved this year are almost in line with income although we have seen a small surplus.
Reserve Policy
The usual policy of the Fund is to maintain a reserve which represents between 18 months and 24 months of annual income.
Exceptions
None
