## **REPORT TO THE MEMBERS OF ST NICHOLAS SCHOOL PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION**
The Charity, St Nicholas School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is established to advance the education of the pupils of the school by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the school (not normally provided by the Local Education Authority).
In doing this we strive to foster more extended relationships between staff, parents, guardians and others associated with the school while engaging in activities that not only support the school but further the learning of our children.
The year to 31 May 2025 has seen a total profit from fundraising activity of £20,823 (see note 3). The main event in terms of funds raised was the Christmas Fair and associated activities, which raised a total of over £8,060. Another significant event was the Summer Ball which had a net profit of £9,040 at the year end May 2025 . Across the year, thanks to a huge effort from across the parent community, we successfully raised money from a variety of events and activities including a children's movie night, Mother's and Father's day gifts, wine-tasting event, pre-loved uniform sales, break the rules day and children's disco. We are grateful, as always, for all the efforts and fundraising events during the year. The PTA has made contributions totalling £11,823 to the school this year. Items funded include fun activities for the pupils to enjoy, classroom resources and activities including books, as well as paying towards the refurbishment of the small playground. After all expenditure there was a surplus of £9,086 for the year. Total funds at year end were £21,190.
We are aware that none of the successes could be achieved without the contribution of you, the members of our Association. Many thanks to you all.

## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF ST NICHOLAS SCHOOL PTA**
I report on the accounts of the above charity for the year ended 31st May 2025, which are set out on pages 5 to 9.
## **Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner**
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibilty to:
-examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act;
-to follow the procedures laid down in the general directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b)
of the 2011 Act; and
-to state whether particular matters have come to my attention
## **Basis of the Independent Examiner's report**
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a "true and fair view" and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
## **Independent Examiner's statement**
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
- to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and
- to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act
have not been met; or
(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
