Everyone's kept in the loop
The Trustee Board has identified the major risks to which they believe the Group
is exposed. these have been reviewed and 5y5tems have been established to
mitigate against them. The maln areas of concern that have been identified are..

Damage to the buildln& property and equlpment
The Group would request the use of buildings, property and equipment from
neighbouring organisations such as the church 3nd other Scout Groups. Similar
reciprocal arrangements exist with these organisations. The Group has
sufficient buildlngs artd contents insurance in place to mitigate against
permanent loss.
Injury to SertSon Teams, helpers, supporters and members
The Group. through the capitation fees, contributes to the Scout Association's
national accldent insurance policy. Risk assessrnents are undertaken before all
activities. Separate insurance is in place for parent helpers and occasional
helper5 not covered by the Scout Association insurance.
Reduced incorne from fund raising
The Group is primarily reliant upon income from subscriptions and fundraising.
The Group does hold a reserve to ensure the continuity of attivities should
there be a malor redurtlon in income. The Board could ralse the value of
subscriptions to increase the income to the Group on an ongoing basis, either
tempolarity or permanently.
Reduction or loss of Section Teams leaders
The Group is totally reliant upon volunteers to run and administer the activities
of the Group. If there were a reduttion in the number of Settion Team5 leader5
to an unacceptable level in a particular sertion, or the Group as 3 whole, then
there would have to be a contraction, ¢onsolid3tion or Closure of a section. In
the worst-case scenarlo, thls would lead to the complete closure of the Group.
Reductlon or loss of members
The Group provides activities for all young people aged 6 to 14. If there were a
reduction in membership in a particular sertion, or the Group as whole, then
there would have to be a contracrlon, consolldation or closure of a sectlon.
Again. in the worst-case scenario, this would lead to the ¢omplete closure of
the Group.
Internal controls
The Group has in place systems of Internal controls that are designed to provide
reasonable assurance against material mismanagement or loss. These include
two signatories for all payments and comprehensive insurance policies to
ensure that insurable ri5k5 are covered.

Addltlonal detalls of objectives and actlvities Ioptlonal Inlormatlonl
The input and support from the Section Teams and their a5S15t3nts Is vital and
invaluable. It is because of them that the Group continues to flourish. The
attivtties and support they show to the young people has gone to make us one
of the larger youth Groups in Old Coulsdon. They instll the Scouting values in
the young people and make them an a55et to the community. Supported
further by the work of the Trustee 802rd, those helping behlnd the scenes have
worked hard to ensure we have had sufficient funds and resources available to
deliver a full and thorough programme to the young people. The focu5 on
future sustainability will ensure the Group thrives for future young people.
