TS Euryalus- Oxford Sea Cadet Unit Donnington Bridge Road, OXFORD OX4 4BJ Charity number 293839 Trustees, Report 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025 During the year covered by this report the Unit Management Team ('the UMT,) consisted of the following active trustees: the Rev'd Stephen Pix (Chair}, Lt {SCC) Anthony Ingham (Acting Commanding Officer), Mr Tim Taylor (Treasurer), Mr Richard Wilkins, Mr Daniel Coles and the Rev'd Anthony Buckley (Unit Chaplain). The UMT met on a number of occasions during the year, as necessary. The conducl of the Unit was governed by the Regulations of the Sea Cadet Cory)s, and the UMT managed the finances and the organisation of the Unit in accordance with those regulations, for the benefil ofihe boys and girls who were members of the Unit as cadets and of the area of Oxford in which the Unli Headquarters is situated., the OX4 postcode. Attendance figures for Cadets and Juniors were very healthy, with more cadets than we have had for many years. Staff and Cadets mel virtually every Tuesday and Friday for training; the activities included drill with and without weapons, seamanship and boat handling, and leadership skills. They also participated in sporting and seamanship activities at District and Area level with considerable succes.s, and most cadets attended training courses and offshore events organised by the Sea Cadet Corps. The Unit wa$ 8UPPOrted panially by cadei subscriptions, but principally by the sale of Christmas trees from the Unit Headquarters in November and December 2024 Any surplus after running costs had been mel was put aside in a special account for when funds would be required to rebuild the Unli Headquarters. There have been ongoing discu8sions with our two landlords, Oxfordshire County Council and Oxford City Council, with a view to obtaining longer leases to facililate raising money for the rebuild. The trustees were aware of the need for the Unit to provide a public benefit, and took steps to do this. Membership was open to all boys and girls who wished to join, without any discrimination, subject to the overall discretion of the Acting Commanding Officer. Moreover, the Unit Headquarters building was available for use by local groups at reasonable cost, again without discrimination as long as the activities of the groups were not at variance with the aims and values of the Sea Cadet Corps.
