## **Charity Overview** 

## **Aims and Objectives:** 

For all young people, including those with disabilities, in the area of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk to support the physical education of such young persons, as well as the development and occupation of their minds by providing facilities for and instruction in all aspects of basic, recreational and competitive gymnastics. 

## **The difference the charity's work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries:** 

The charity's fundraising has delivered tangible and sustained benefits to the club and its beneficiaries. Funding has supported the training and qualification of the coaches, with a particular emphasis on developing young coaches, thereby strengthening the clubs long term capability and leadership pipeline **.** Investment in the essential equipment has improved the quality and safety of training, while financial support for competition attendance has enabled gymnastics to broaden their experience and progress within the sport. With these benefits it encourages that encourages continued participation that promotes physical health, confidence, team work and sportsmanship. 

## **Ensuring our work delivers our aims:** 

50th anniversary of the club, combining with a display to showcase the gymnasts achievements and providing a party for all to attend and enjoy. £4503.43 

Coaches training courses to allow gymnasts to be coached at various levels of their development stages.

Largest piece of equipment purchased was the air track which provides a 

development to be made on a softer surface before putting it onto harder competition surfaces.

Invited external tumbling coaches to come and run a weekend of tumbling camps to share their knowledge and experience with the coaches and gymnastics on warm up, technique and skill progression.

## **Principle funding sources:** 

Income is generated by our kit sales, entrances fees to our in house competitions and annual display entrance fees. Multiple raffles throughout the year and sweet sales. 



## **Plans for future periods:** 

The charity plans to continue its original activities and also a presentation evening is planned, this will include a disco games afterwards for all. Further donations from raffles and fete style interactive stalls will be planned from this event. This will help towards purchasing further pieces of equipment,help with costly competition entrance fees and further training opportunities. 

## **Structure, Governance and Management** 

## **Governing Document:** 

The Kings Lynn Gymnastics Club was first registered as a charity on 10th February 1986. It was set up for the general charitable purposes for education/training in amateur sport for children/young people and people with disabilities. 

## **Recruitment and appointment of trustees:** 

All members of the fundraising committee give their time up voluntarily and receive no benefits from the charity. Trustees can join throughout the year and are usually parents/carers of the gymnasts. The trustees are encouraged to attend the regular meeting held throughout the year to familiarise themselves with the charity and the context in which it operates. The management committee, which is the Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary once elected are expected ton step down at the next Annual General Meeting where these positions must be re-elected after a vote taking place.
