**Objects:** TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY OF HERTFORDSHIRE, AND FOR THIS PURPOSE AND NOT OTHERWISE TO PUBLISH TRANSCRIPTS, ABSTRACTS, AND EDITED TEXTS OF DOCUMENTARY SOURCES RELATIVE TO SUCH HISTORY.

**Activities:** The aim of the charity is to make Hertfordshire's great written heritage acccessable to everyone. Every year the Society publishes a volume of transcribed and edited records, bound in hard covers with an illustrated dust jacket. The occasional publication of old county maps is also part of the Society's programme.
