experiences, foslering skills, teamwork. 8nd a sense of adventure. Each term was filled with
oppx)rtunities for growth. leaming. and fun, ensuring a memorable and enriching year.
Spring 2024: a vibrant term packed wth varied activilies th8t kept our young people
engaged and learning. We kncked off with the Cubs exploring astronomy and the Scouts
developing life skills such as emergency aid. We also enjoyed a fun and 8ducation81 science
night with DrAndrew S.
Pancake cooking added a delicsous twist to the term, and we took part in an amphibian
survey at Scout Park to see if there were any crested newts or other water-based wldlrfe.
The temi wrapped up wtth air rffle and clay pigeon activities, as well as a thrilling session in a
professional flight simulator lo test our budding pilots.
Our Beavers reslarted on Saturdays in April wth an Easter hunt and the chance to mak8
new frlends. We had an amazing 15 Beavers in our first session and the numbers remained
good.
Summ•r 2024.. a tem of exploration and outdoor fun. The Scouts had a go at parascending,
and although we planned gliding and micrtrgliding, the weather didn't cooperate on those
dates. A highlight was spending the night on HMS Cavalier, a C-class destroyer fromWW2.
All sections had a visit from the police, where they leamed about personal safety through the
°Clever Never Goes. initiative. The Cubs also worked with BASC to build duck n8Sts.
At the East Finchley Festival, our young people gave back to the community by helping with
litter picking. We ended the term by practising essential camping skills and enjoying archery
and air rifle sessions- all in preparation for the Districl Camp. Our AGM and BBQ brought
everyone together to celebrate the term's achievements.
Autumn 2024.. in this term our Scouts focused on navigation skills to prepare for the District
Expedition Camp and also visited the National Space Centre as part of a new badge launch.
They took part in the always-popular scub8 diving session, learning new skills and building
teamwork.

The Cubs had a fun Halloween camp at Thriftwood, and the Beavers completed their
Science badge while making new friends. The Beavers leamt about animals and finished tho
term with a trip to freightliners farm.
And finally, a Cub achieved the Chief Scout Silver Award and one of our Scouts achiev&
the Chief Scout Gold Award. A great achievement for them and also for the group.
In summary 2024 has been a testament to our Scouts, enthusiasm, re&lience, and strong
community spirit. Here's to even more adventures and achievements in the year aheadl
