**Objects:** 1. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY OF BIDEFORD AND THE SURROUNDING AREA IN PARTICULAR BY THE COLLECTION AND PRESERVATION OF DOCUMENTS AND PHOTOGRAPHS RELEVANT TO THE DISTRICT AND BY ASSISTING IN THE PROTECTION OF THE PHYSICAL REMAINS OF THE PAST; 2. TO MAINTAIN SUPPORT AND DEVELOP THE WORK OF THE BIDEFORD COMMUNITY ARCHIVE.

**Activities:** Researching  and recording the history of Bideford, Northam and the surrounding district, including the indexing of the Bideford Gazette newspaper.  Publishing booklets on aspects of local history .Creating topic packs on local history primarily for use by schools.  Assisting members of the public who wish to research local and family history
