|~Events; We delivered<br>asuccessful Beer Festival and a sell-out Bonfire Night. We also supported<br>the||||||
|Primadonnas<br>to deliver their first festival at the museum.<br>The Primadonna<br>Festival gives prominence<br>to|||voices|||
|from women,<br>LGBTQ+ and people ofcolour.||||||
|~ Capital work: We began the refurbishment<br>ofthe Bone Building as a space for large changing<br>exhibitions|||to|||
|complement<br>the community<br>space in Abbot's<br>Hall. Work to restore Alton Watermill<br>to working<br>order also||||||
|continued<br>throughout<br>the year, including<br>the repair ofthe mill pond which was drained<br>and relined|with|blue||||
|clay.||||||
|~ Conservation<br>work: With support<br>from AIM and the Barbara Whatmore<br>Trust, we worked<br>with Kickstarters||||and||
|volunteers<br>to carry out a detailed conservation<br>project on I0of our large objects, including<br>the Gypsy||&||||
|Traveller vehicles.||||||
|~ Nature conservation:<br>Several projects took place along the river, including<br>introducing<br>owl rehabilitation|||with||the|
|Suffolk Owl Sanctuary,<br>balsam bashing,<br>habitat restoration<br>and creation,<br>planting oftrees along the river|||with|||
|the Suffolk Wildlife Trust and through<br>the Town Council's<br>Biodiversity<br>100 initiative. We opened<br>up|new||paths|||
|and offered badger-watching<br>evenings<br>in a newly-built<br>hazel hide.||||||
|~ Farm: We acquired a second Suffolk Punch,<br>Faith, as well as five English goats and a pair ofpeacocks.||||||
|~Crack Wood and the Allotments:<br>We took a lease on a further 9acres of land which encompassed|the|allotment||||
|site at Combs Ford. After looking at the options for addressing<br>issues, including<br>persistent<br>flooding,|we decided|||||
|to relocate the allotments<br>to a higher piece of land. We installed a toilet, water, parking area, sheds|and|||||
|fencing, marked<br>out new plots and helped the plot-holders<br>to relocate. We set up a new allotment|committee.|||||
|~ Bridges and paths: Through<br>the ScottishPower<br>River for All project, we were able to begin work on|opening||||up|
|new paths, including<br>replacing<br>two damaged<br>bridges and laying the groundwork<br>for improving<br>access||to|the|||
|diver trail.||||||
|~ Brand: We commissioned<br>Southwold-based<br>practice Spring to design our new Food Museum<br>brand and|||create|||
|a new website,<br>It launched<br>at the beginning<br>ofApril 2022.We upgraded<br>our external<br>buildings<br>interpretation|||||to|
|make our largest exhibits part ofthe food story and created a new orientation<br>leaflet in the new style.||||||
|~ BBCseries; We were featured<br>in the Radio 4series, The Museums<br>That Make Us, presented<br>by Neil||||||
|MacGregor,<br>which was broadcast<br>in March 2022 as we made the name change.||||||
|~ Staff:We redesigned<br>the daily programme<br>to deliver more interactions<br>between<br>visitors and staff. We||||||
|restructured<br>in March to introduce<br>new front ofhouse roles and recruit more people to our learning|team||and|||
|our new cafe.||||||
|~ Sector and local engagement:<br>We continued<br>to participate<br>in SHARE East forums, the LEP Cultural|Board|||and||
|others. Our Director chaired Museums<br>East of England<br>and the Stowmarket<br>Culture<br>Group, which|began|||||
|collaboration<br>on the Jubilant! youth arts festival for Summer 2022.||||||
