known as Masjid-E-DA%vatul Islam and also known as Balfour Road Mosque* was purcbascd in 1986. The
Society's purpose is lo advartt the Islamic faith through ihe PTovision of a wide ronge of spiritual.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
Re$erve¥ poliey
Reserves are n¢ed¢d to brid8e the gap between the sFnding and r¢c¢iving of income and to cov
unplanned emergency T￿81T$ and other expenditure. The society aveTrge T￿1bthlY sp¢ndin8 was £17,500
(2022: £21.650) per month thlling year ended 3 Is¢ M*rch 2023.
The trnstee8 consider that the ideal level of res¢rves would cover six months spending which is
approximately £105,000. Reserves a8 at 31st Marcb 2023 amounted 10 £2.978.294 (2022.. £2,854,745). The
trustees wnsid¢r th¢ 50(l¢ty is in a healthy position to continu¢ SLWrt the soci¢ty objectives.

Lloyds is the principle bankeT for the s￿iety ixrt an account is also held with Barcla￿ Bank.
The society have reiained a fijnd of £2.978.294 (2022: £2.854.745} as at the year ended 3 1st March 2023.

Until December 2022. all freehold proF¢rtics wer¢ held in In￿t by fOrn￿r trusteey on beh41f of ihe llford
Muslim Society charitsble tn￿t.
From Dec¢mb¢r 2022 onwarits, this hL8 now changed. All properties are now held by a company• Limit¢d by
Guarantee. Ilford Muslim Society limiied. This Compgny now holds the proi)¢rties in trust for the charity.
The iitle deeds hav¢ b¢¢n amended to reflect this ch8n8e for all the properties. This is bcin8 pro¢e$sed by th¢
Land reBistry and records will refleci the new posiiion a$ soon as th¢ L4nd r¢gistry Upda￿ ibe public records.
FUTURE PLANS
The ¢onstru¢tl•n and renovailon of 106 Balfour IGI 4JE
Plans are under discussion to usc this as 4 well needed community centre which will serY¢ the cotDmunity.
This project is l￿W at 4 plannin8 approval stAg¢ with the loc*1 council.
The Society also wishes to in¢rease the servic¢8 to the Muslim and wi&r comDMmity. The Society wishcs to
pursue activili¢s to promote 80cial and Islamic values. For ihis re￿ll, Ihe Society is currently lookin8 at
g¢1iviti¢s that Can build a social fabric within thc Valcntincs Ward that we can all be Proud of.
The Society is also looking lo impTove sernices foT womett of the lo¢￿ Community. by encouraging
participation of women in ￿tivItieS run or hosted by th¢ soci¢ty.
Good PTogr¢s5 has bccn mAd¢ on this project during 2021122, with consultation with the con]munity now
¢ompl¢frd. During the end of 2023, we hope lo have compleled and Tecciv¢d all planning wilh the local
council and commenced work.
