Audltorfs responglbllltles for the audlt of the flnan¢ial statemenis
Our objectives are lo obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial slalemenls as a whole
are free from material misslalemenl, whether due lo fraud or error, and to issue an auditor's report that
includes our opinion. Reasonable assurance is a high level of assurance, but is not a guarantee that
an audit conducted in accordance with ISAS (UK} will always delect a material misslalemenl when 11
exisls. Misstslemenls can arise from fraud or error and are considered material rf, individually or in the
ag9regate, Ihey could reasonably be expected lo influence the economic decisions of users taken on
the basis of these financial slalemenls.
ITregularilles, including fraud, are instances of non-compliance with laws and regulations. We design
prO￿d￿re$ in line with our responsibilities, outlined above, to delecl material misslatemenls in respect
of irregularities, including fraud. The extent to wh￿h our proceéures are capable of delecling
rregularities, includlng fraud is detailed below..
Identifying and testing journal entries and Ihe overall accounting records, particularly those that were
Signifi￿nI and unusual.
Reviewing the financial statement disclosures and determining whether accounting pol￿10S have been
appropriately applied_
Assessing the extent of compliance, or lack of, wlh relevant laws and regulations.
Testing key revenue lines, for evidence of man3Jem8nl bias.
Verrflcalion of key assets.
Obtaining Ihird-party confirmation of material balances.
Documenting and verifying all sunrficant related party balances and trans8¢tions.
Reviewing doGumenlalion such as the company board minutes, correspondence with 80licilors. for
discu55K)ns of irregularities including fraud.
As part of an audit in accordance with ISAS IUKI, we exertise professional judgment and maintain
professional sceplicism throughout the audll. We also:
Identrfy and assess the risks of material mlsst21emenl of the financial slatemenls, whether due to
fraud or error, design and perform audit procedures responsive to those risks, and obtain audit
eviden￿ Ihal is sufficient and appropriate lo provide a basis for our opinion. The risk of not
deleGling a material misslatemenl resulting from fraud is higher than for one resulting frorn error,
a5 fraud may involve collusion, forgery, intentional omissions, misrepresentations, or the override
of internal control.
Obtain an understanding of inlernal control rebvanl lo the audit in order to deslgn audit
procedures that are appropriate in the circumslariGes, but not for the purpose of expressing an
opinion on the effectiveness of the internal control.
Evaluate the approprialeness of accounting policies used and the reasonableness of accounting
estimates and related disclosures made by the trustees.
