The finonciol statements have been prepared in accordonce with the accounting policies sel out in
note I lo the linanciol Statements and comply with the Chority's Tru51 deed. Ihe Charities Act 2011 and

preparing Iheii accounts in occordance with Ihe Financial Reporting Standard opplicable in the UK

Tho Chorily Trust Temains commilled to SYOMding and enhancing Ihe educolion ond training
oxperience lor medical and allied healthcare Pfofe55ionals.
The objectives ol the Centre ore the advancement of medical educo*ion, lo all doctor5, medicol
students and those in professions allied to medicine. including provision of comlortoble facilities lor oll
resident doctors in training.
A¢hlevemenls and performancè
Within these objectives. the Centie is enabled lo buy equipment lo enhance learning. together with
fvmi5hings ond equipment to further the comfort of the Trainees, Medical Students and poslgroduote
staff.
The Foundation Programme for Trainee Doclois run by the Cenlre comprises o lolal 0163 Trainees,. 39
Foundolion Yeor l and 34 Foundalion Year 2 Troinees. For the 2024 intuke there were 3 vaconcies.
There ore current plons lo change the number ol Foundation Troinees with the NHS England INHSEI KSS
(Kent, SuTTey and Sussex) expansion programme. The review ol the rololional plac&men*s of the
programmes will take ploce in 2025 with o p0$5ible of 2 additional programmes. 11 is forecast that f(Y
2025 all foundolion 5X)sts will be lull ond that the nalionol criteria lor broodening the Iroining
programmes will be mel. The Centre 5UPPOrts these Iroinees in all aspecls ol their training, inctuding the
provision ol vp to dale facilities lor the effective training ol these doctors. ond lor use in advancement
of medi¢al education lo oll doelors and allied healthcare prolessionok5 in the geogrophico71 orea.
Training activities ol the Centre hove increased this yetsr after a period of low bookings last year.
Prewously, the Centre ollered a ronge of paid Course5, bvl demand lor these ha5 declined due lo the
increase in training provided within the trust for resident doctors and other heollhcore prole5sionals.
Offering more courses in the lulure could help generate oddilionol lurnding. which will be considered
going folward.
The two annual prizes we offer, the Alon Penleeost and th6 Robert Hardwick prize were not held Ihi%
yoar due lo uptoke. We will be looknng to hold the prizes in 2025. The Innovolion Prize which wos
inlroduced in 2012 ond had been very popular with Resident t)octor5 ond ￿ going lo be reinlroducgd
in 2025. These prizes were not held due to 51all shortages ond pressures on the service.
The GP Account did not receive funding or Heollh Educolion Englond- now m&rged with NHSE, these
fLJnds ore used for the dillerenl cluster meetings l events held oll sil6 in the region lo help with
community training ond development. Trustees hove (Jdvised lo use tho lund5 held for events which
ore forlhcoming ond ore looking to close the oceount once funds hove been ulili5ed.

the previous year of £6,209. Totol unre51ricted funds hove decreased lo £27,048 at 31 December 2024
compared lo £44.193 al the previous balance sheet dole.
The Ironsaclion5 lor the year ond the chority'5 financiol position at the end of the year are shown in the
olloched finonciol slolemenls.
The Trustee5 are aware that allhough their financial base has remained stable, income from
phormaceulicol sponsors hos ogcTin decreosed notice0b￿ this year and 15 likely lo continue lo do 50 in
the coming year. The Postgraduate Centre ha5 hosted some prestigious national study days this year
which have earned Sufficient funds so the bonk bolonce remoins in a vioble position. The TnJ51ees
remoin d&dicoled lo enhancing the Centre and continue lo work actively towards this goal.
The Truslees, Reserve5 Policy is to en5vFe thal there are sufficient funds lo meet the core costs for
approximately twelve months. this will be reviewed on an annual basis.
The Trusleeg have osse55ed Ihe major ri5k5 to which the Charity IS eXP05ed, und are satisfied that
syslems ore in ploce lo mitigate exposure lo the major risk5.
Plons for Ihe lulure are lo continue to ensure Ihal facilities remain ol the highest slondords lor the
trainees, medical students ond other medical stall.
The primary locus is to further enhance multidisciplinary training wilhin the Poslgraduole C&nlre by
continuing the simvlolion progromme ond clinical skills course, expanding interdisciplinary
colloboration, cu5tomising leoming pathways. incorporating feedback, measuring outcomes, and
promoting inleTprofe55ional leaming opportunities.
