## **Treasurers Report** 

## **Year Ending 31st March 2022** 

- 1 This summary covers the accounts for the period April 2022 to March 2023. 2 The 8th Alton Scout Group generated 57K of income mostly through subscriptions, fundraising, donations, section spesific activity funding, Gift Aid and building usage donations. 

- 3 Gross expenditure totalling 78K in the period. 

   - 3.1 Over and above the normal running cost of the Group and buildings and included in the above expenditure figure are the following exceptional expenditure areed by the Trustees: - 10.6K contribution to Group Camp post Covid 

      - -7.5K donations of which 6.5K gone to the Round table for their support -3.5K Professional fees toward the future toilet refurbishment project 

- 4 The 8th Alton Scout Group had a surplus of funds totalling 34.9K at the end of the reporting period 5 The accounts will be scrutinised by a suitable qualified professional

## **Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of 8[th] Alton Scout Council** 

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the 8[th] Alton for the year ended 31[st] March 2023. 

## **Responsibilities and basis of report** 

As the charity trustees of the 8[th] Alton Scout Group you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). 

I report in respect of my examination of the 8[th] Alton Scout Group accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent examiner’s statement** 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the 8[th] Alton Scout Group as required by section 130 of the Act; or 

2. the accounts do not accord with those records. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
