All committee members have been active throughout the period of the annual report and have complied with the duty to have due regard to guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission. More committee members would be welcomed and it is hoped that people will step forward to give a little of their time to contribute to the efficient running of the PSA and help to come to decisions on how to spend the income generated from the property owned and fundraising to the greatest benefit of those who attend Smerdon. A Christmas Bazaar was held in November 2024, raising a profit of £1,827.21 which includes the sum of £1,038 profit from the sale of raffle tickets. Annual Report - AGM 27[th] October 2025 1 We are very pleased to announce there will be a Christmas Bazaar this year commencing at midday on Saturday, 22[nd] November, 2025 and we look forward to seeing you all there. Whether or not you are able to attend we hope you will buy and sell raffle tickets to all your friends, colleagues, neighbours and relations - these will be sent home shortly. Smerdon PSA have been very fortunate to receive very significant donations totalling £22,065 this year including a £20,000 donation from Ascot Underwriting Holdings Ltd, £1,000 from the Mayor’s Fund, and £1,050 from the Rotary Club as well as smaller donations. A very grateful thanks is sent to all those who contributed. Many other items and activities have been purchased during the year by the Association to enhance the lives of our attendees including : - Christmas and Easter gifts, and contributions to Christmas activities. - A gardening truck to support the gardening social enterprise and an accessible large vehicle, both compliant with ULEZ – purchased using the donations from Ascot Underwriting Holdings Ltd together with a contribution from Eleanor, and the sums from the sale of the previous vehicles. - A 3 D printer and accessories, exercise machines, boccia equipment, gardening and outdoor equipment. - The PSA have also funded many other things such as entertainers, performers, animal sessions, magic, boxing, keep fit and music professionals to entertain and educate. The PSA also fund monthly subscriptions to Apple Music and Netflix to enable access to music and film. ## **Financial report:** The total income for this period 1[st] October 2024 to 30th September 2025, was £44,784.62 and the total expenditure was £65,152.05. The end of year balance in the current account stands at £6,093.63, plus the PSA hold a further £15,000.00 invested in a 3 year bond for the charity, totalling £21,093.63. The bond yielded interest of £495 this year. Last year’s total end of balance was £26,461.06 . The association do not receive grants from any institutions or authorities and do not employ any staff. ## **Assets:** Smerdon PSA own a property in New Romney, Kent, which is let out to a long-term tenant and has yielded an annual income of £10,800, minus property management and gas safety etc of £1,878 and repairs/maintenance costing £512.99 (including new fencing) and building and boiler insurance costing £886.97, leaving a profit of £7,522.04. Rent was increased for the property at the beginning of the period by £50 per month. The Association would like to thank all the staff at Smerdon and all the volunteers and committee members for the work they put in to improve the lives of our attendees and look forward to an exciting new year.
