The objects of the Charty remain unchanged, namely the Communrty Centre is a
village hall for the use of the inhabitants of the parish of North Petherton. wthout
distinction of political religious or other opinion including use for meeting lectures and
clasges and for other fomis of recreation and leisure-time occupth'on wrth the object
of improving the condth.ons of lrfe for the said inhabrtants.
Having revised the values, mission and awns of our management pro￿sseS we
revised our Constiiution to update it fr(xn its original version in 1983. The draft revision
was submrtted to the Charity Commission, in line with ￿ Commi&sion's guidan￿ and
was fomially approved in May 2025.
Our policies have been updated and publicBed on the Communty Centre's web page

Our Or
anisational Structure and Relationshi
th Related Parties
The Charity is managed through an active Committee. Committee meetings continue
to be held monthly and are well attended with actrve participation from all members.
We have tsvo new Trustees Sin￿ April 2024. Two long standing Trustees have stood
down after many years of committed Committ￿ service and their contributions have
rnade a valuable and significant impact to the Centre's progress to date. The strength
and cornrnitrnent of our committee membership is crucial to the effective rnanagement
of the Centre for the benefit of the North Petherton community.
We have continued our dose working relationship with the Town Council and Friends
of North Petherton Library and value these partnerships. Since the last AGM meeting.
we have established a closer working relationship with North Petherton Flower Show
Committee and the North Petherton Church through individual members from eath of
these organisations. who are now valued and active representative membets of the
Communty Centre management committee.

Centre's Infrastructure
The Centre's roof repairs were completed in the summer of 2024 with the help of a
successful grant from the HPC Community Fund which was appreciated and with
match funding from the Community Centre's funds.
With guKlance and adv1￿ from Communrty Council Somerset (CCS) we applied for
funding for an Energy Audit as part of the Somerset Decarb Project This application
was successful and the Energy Audit was completed in March 2025. The full report
has recently arrived with the Trustees for discussion. consideration and decisions are
due to tske pla￿ at the next Committee meeting in May 2025. The aim will be to match
potential effictency gains and sustainabilty improvements with affordabilty.
The Centre's car park serves not only the activities of the Communty Centre but the
wider Communitr¢s use of the Town's businesses. As such, car parking spaces have
become increasingty busy with limited availabilty for key users of the Centre. The
Committee is in the process of renewtng the guidance on accessibility to the car park,
whith will be clear and easily visible to all who use the car pa￿. Communication of the
rationale for and the process of renewal of this guidance will be managed carefully
and sensitively.
Communi
Centre Aclivities
The Communty Centre activitses for 2024r2025 have made considerable progress in
meeting our vision which is:
to place the North Petherton Communty Centre at the heart of the (x)rnmunty,
providing a suslainable. and accessible space that is valued and supported by the
people of our town.
and our mission which is:
to promote, enable and facilitate incluslve actr¥itFes, which embra￿ and address the
education, social, cultural and recreational needs of the Noth Petherton Communities.
The committee continues to monitor all requests for use of the Centre against these
principles.
The Centre hosts a wide variety of activitEs for all ages. interests and serVI￿S and
the Trustees v￿lCome any further ideas and suggestions from individuals wiihin the
local community.
The Produce arKI Makers Market at the Communty Centre which takes Pla￿ on the
third Sunday every month is now estsblished and is proving popular with the local

communty.
After much consideration and in line with our stated values. the Committee agreed to
host the North Petherton Communty Larder. which was forynalty launched in February
2025. The North Petherton Community Larder (NPCL) aims to reduce food vrdste by
prowding a Spa￿ availabFe to all membe[5 of the local comrnunty to collect and share
surplus fresh and non-pertshable food. It is Working well and we encourage everyone
to Use it.
In partnership with the North Petherton Town Counctl, we arranged for the North
Petherton Youth Club to move from their location in the Church Rooms at North
Petherton to the Main Hall at the Communty Centre January 2025. The Youth Club
now meets every Tuesday evening. under the supervision of a qualified and
experienced Youth Worker. The Youth Club is managed by the Town Council and the
Committee will have a regular update from the Council on progress.
The decision to provide a regular pattem of film shows has proved to be su￿sSfUl.
with 'a balanced mix of adult and family fr￿used films. The showing of the famity films
Wonka and The Polar Express were particularly successful and further family focused
films are planned during the year.
In Summa
It has b￿n a busy. Satisfying and rewarding year for the North Petherton Communty
Centre Committee and we will continue our intents'ons arKI ambitions to further develop
the achievements and work of past and present commbttee members. So, will
continue to be bold, imaginative and ambitious in our efforts to build on the amazing
work that has happened at the Centre in previous yea￿.
