The Tiustees are awaro of their duty to apply income funds of th8 charity withÉn a reasonable Ilmg of their receipt
and of the need lo justify any incom0 reserves. At 5 April 2023, the level of unreslrict8d funds wa5 £2,052.313 {as
compared with unrestricted fiJnd5 of £2.225,021 al 5 April 20221. The Trustegs. policy Is to maintain sufficient
incorne reserves to produce investment income of 8pproximately £40.000 £50,000 In each year.. the Truslees
consider that the level of in¢tsme is likely lo be needed lo meet direct charftable expendliure (primarily in the form of
grantsl and management and administration ¢osl$, with a small amount availablg for contingencies. In vlew of the
Tru81s income needs and Ihè changeablg investment enwronment over the last 12 months, th8 Trustees hav8
decided to maintaln the level of reserves for the coming year.
TrustO88 held the asset$ of tho trtjsl in aLurdance with thelr powers during the y&3r. The Truslees have ab8oluEe
di5cfetion to Invest th8 funds of the Tnjsl; reslrictsons ale placed on these powers. The Trustees. poliw for thg
selection of investments for the charity is to seek lo achieve a balance be￿ae￿ income and capital growth and that
the Investrnent portfolio has a medium risk. Invesloc manag&s the portfollo on a discretionary basis.

The Robert and Margaret Moss Charitable Trust was establishad under a Twst deed on 24 August 1984 to
adminislerfunds setugd by Robert and Margaret Mos8.
New Tnjslees ara appolnt8d either to ftll a casual vacancy or by way of addition io the Board. Patti¢vlai emphasis is
placed vpon the appointment of Trustees with knowtedga and experienc& relevant to ttrte Trust's charitable acbvilles.
When new TNslees are appointed Ihey are given an introductbn to the WO￿ of the Trust and provid6d with Iha
inf￿rnation they naed to fulfil their roles, whlch Includes infom)ation aboui the rola of th8 Trust¢os and the
r8sponsibilllles under the Charities A¢1 2011.
Day-ttrday administration ol th& Trust Is delegated to an administrator under Ihe supervlslon of the Tmstses.
Decislon-making powers are ratained by the Trustees and exerdsad al regular Trustees. meétings. Thè Trustees
held meetings during Iha year ended 5 April 2023.

Charilles Act 2011, FRS 102 Yhe Financial Reporting Standard applicable in tha UK and Republt¢ of Ireland"
I'FRS 10T) and the Charities SORP "Accounting and Raporting by Charllles.. Statement of Recommended
Practice appItca￿e to charitles prepailng thalr accounts in accordance with the Financlal Rèporting Standard
appllcable In the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 1021" (effective 1 January 2019). The trust ts a Publlc
Benèfit Entity as defined by FRS 102.
The trust has taken advantsge of th& provislons In the SORP for charfties not to prepare a Statement of Cash
Flows.
The financi81 statgmgnts have departed from the Charities (Accounts and Report8J Regulations 2008 only lo
the extent requlred to prowde a true and fair vTew. This departure has involved following the Statemènt of
Recommend8d Practicè for ¢harfties applying FRS 102 rather than the varsion of Ihe Stslement ol

1.4 Income
