FOR THE YEAR ENDED 5 APRIL 2022
The trugtees present their annual report and financial slatements for the year ended 5 April 2022.
The financial ststemenls have been prepared in acmrdance with the accounting policies $8t out in note 1 to the
financial statements and comply with the trust's deed dated 24 August 1984, the Charities Act 2011 and
"Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing
their accounts in accordance with the Financi81 Reporting Stsndard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
IFRS 1021" (effectlv8 1 January 2019}.
ObJ•¢Uv&s and activities
Ils objects are (al to foster and promote medical and sclentffic research into the vast problems of human
nutrition, (bl to foster and promote medical research generally, (c) the relEf of poverty and Idl the advancement
of education. The Trustses confim that they have referred lo the guidanee contained in the Charity
Commission's general guidan￿ on public benefit whgn reviewing the Trust's aims and objeGUves and in planning
future actDrities and setting the grant making policy for the year.
The Truslees 8eek to further these oblects by making grants lo other organi8alions. In the pasc the Trustees
have supported and assisted research into the problems of human nutrition and othgr medical research. In
additson, they have provided support for the rèlief of poverty and the advancemelll of education. The support
has beon Provided to organisations basgd predominantly in Oxfordshire. The Trustees, policy is to continue
funding appropriale resgarch projects. preferably based in Oxfordshire, and supporting local organisalions in
their work relating to the relief of poverty and the advancement of education. The Trustees have sought lo
ensur& that their policy is made known to the public through grant-making directories.
Achievement8 and perforn)ance
The Trust has established ils grant making policy lo achieve its objects for the publlc benefiL Grants were made
in lin8 with this policy during the year as set out in note 3 in the accounts.
Financial revlew
The Trustees are aware of their duty to appty income funds of the charity wthln a reasonable time of their receipt
and of the need to justify any income reseNes. At 5 April 2022, the level of unrestricted funds was £2,226,271
(as compared with unrestricted fvnds of £2,135,825 al 5 April 2021). The Trustees, policy is to maintain suifiThent
inc£Jme reserves lo produce investment income of approximately £40.000 - £50,000 in each yaar.. the Trustees
consid8r that the level of income is likely to be needed to meet direct charitable expenditure Ipnmarily in the fomi
of grants) and management and adminislralion costs, with a small amount available for contingencies. In view of
the Trust's income needs and the changeable investment anvironmant over the last 12 months, tho Trustees
have declded to maintain the level of reserv88 for the coming year.
Trustees held the assets of the trust in accordance with their powers during the year. The Trustees have absolute
discretion to invest the funds of the Tru$l,' no restrictions are placed on these powers. The Trustees. policy for the
selection of investments for the chartty is to ssek lo achievè a balance be￿een income and capital growth and
that the investment portfolio has a medium risk. Investec manages the portFolio on a discretionary basis.
Structure, governance and management
The Robert and Margaret Mos¥ Charitable Trust was established under a Trust deed on 24 August 1984 to
administer funds settled by Robert and Margaret Moss.
New Twslees are appointed either lo fill a casual vacancy or by way of addition to the Board. Particular
emphasis is placed upon the appointment of Trustees with knowladge and &xperience relevant to the Trust's
charitable activities. Vwhen new Trustees are appointed they are given an introduction to the work of the Trust
and provided wrth the information they need lo fu￿11 their roles. which includes information about the role of the
Trustees and their responsibilities under th¢ Charities Act 2011.
DaY-tr￿aY administration of thg Trust 1$ delegated to an administrator under the SUPèNislon of the Trustees.
Decision-making powers are retained by th8 Trustees and exercised at regular Trustees, meetings. The Trustses

Your attention is drawn to the fgct that the charity has prepared financial statements in accordancè with
Accounting and Reporting by Charities pr&paring their accounts In acLordance with the Finan￿al Reporting
standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 102} in preference tr) the Accounting and Reporting
by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice issued on 1 April 2005 which 18 referred to in the extant
regulats'ons but has now been withdrawn.

accoTdance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practice elfective for reporting periods beginning on or after 1
January 2015.
I have completed my examination. I confimi that no matters have come to my attention in wnnection wrth the
examinalron giving me cause to believe that in any material respeGL
a￿OUnting records were not kept in respect of the trust as r8quired by section 130 of the 2011 Act,. or
the financial ststements do not accord with those records., or
