**Objects:** (1) IN OR TOWARDS PROVIDING SUCH SPECIAL BENEFITS OF ANY KIND NOT NORMALLY PROVIDED BY THE LOCAL EDUCATION AUTHORITY FOR ANY MAINTAINED SCHOOL IN THE AREA OF BENEIFT AS MAY FROM TIME TO TIME BE AGREED BETWEEN THE TRUSTEES AND THE LOCAL EDUCATION AUTHORITY AND THE HEAD TEACHER AND GOVERNORS OF THE SCHOOL CONCERNED. (2) SUBJECT THERETO THE TRUSTEES SHALL APPLY THE SAID INCOME IN PROMOTING IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES THE EDUCATION (INCLUDING SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL TRAINING) OF THE CHILDREN AND YOUNG PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 25 YEARS WHO ARE RESIDENT IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT OR WHO ARE ATTENDING OR HAVE ATTENDED FOR NOT LESS THAN TWO YEARS ANY MAINTAINED SCHOOL IN THE SAID AREA AND WHO ARE IN NEED OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. FOR DETAILS SEE CLAUSE 23 OF SCHEME. THE "AREA OF BENEFIT" IS THE FORMER BOROUGH OF TENTERDEN AS CONSTITUTED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE 1ST APRIL 1974.

**Activities:** After reinvestment of a small part of annual income and any admin costs,  the Trustees apply the remainder towards financial help not normally provided by the local education authority for any maintained school in the area of benefit. Also, financial assistance for children and young persons under 25 years,  resident in the area of benefit (Tenterden and surrounding area),  may be available.
