FRIENDS OF DEERHURST CHURCH
TREASURER’S REPORT as at 31[st] March 2025
Our position remains strong. A number of new members, including life members, have joined: welcome to all. Book sales continued, and my thanks are due to Garth Reynolds for organising monthly lists of sales.
The overall balance on the 1[st] of April 2024 (start of financial year) was £44, 283, held at Lloyds Bank (£17,760) and Redwood Bank (£26, 523 which includes over £898 in interest earned for the financial year).
The overall balance on the 31[st] of March 2025 was £153, 641 held at Lloyds Bank and £27, 511 held at Redwood Bank (including £988 interest). The reasons for this increase in our funds are the generous bequests made to the Friends by the estate of Doreen Farthing (£4, 000) and the estate of Mrs Jean Hollingworth (£133, 205).
Book sales are again recorded as part of our income, as we continue to produce new books arising from our annual Deerhurst lectures, the latest being Trevor Cooper’s The Post-Reformation Communion Furnishings at St Mary’s, Deerhurst and their Context, the printing of which was funded by the generous contribution of £2000 towards the cost of printing.
Jeremy Lake, Treasurer 23 July 2025
