G V BALL CHARITY (PEOPLE'S PARK) BANBURY CHARITY NUMBER 289391 ANNUAL REPORT For the year ending 31 March 2024 Introduction and Purpose of Report To presenl to Trustees the Income & Expenditure Account for the G V Ball Charity and lo authorise the Chairman to sign the Financial Statement and Annual Report on behalf of the Trustees. Background People's Park is owned and managed by the G V Ball Charity (People's Park) Banbury Trust. Banbury Town Council as a Corporate Body is Trustee of the Charity. To comply with Ihe requirements of the Charity Commissioners, the Trust is required lo meet annually to approve the Financial Slatement and the Annual Return. The Trust is also charged with the responsibilrty for the Maintenan￿ of the G V Ball Memorial in Soulham Road Cemelery_ Failure to maintain the memorial would result in the land being transfe￿ed to The Horton Hospital. Report of Activities in 202312024 This year has seen the ongoing improvements to the standard of maintenance ofthe park that has flowed from decision by Councillors to bring grounds maintenance in- house. The park has hosted successful planting days with hundreds of local school children participating in the Rose Garden. and the attendan￿ of many velerans during Remembrance Day at the War memorial. 3.2 The Income and Expenditure Account is attached at Appendix 1 detailing the annual running costs and donalion from Banbury Town Council. The G V Ball Memorial in Southam Road Cemetery has been maintained.
