## **ANNUAL REPORT For the year ending 31 March 2023** 


## **1. Introduction and Purpose of Report** 

- 1.1 To present to Trustees the Income & Expenditure Account for the G V Ball Charity and to authorise the Chairman to sign the Financial Statement and Annual Report on behalf of the Trustees. 

## **2. Background** 

- 2.1 People’s Park is owned and managed by the G V Ball Charity (People’s Park) Banbury Trust.  Banbury Town Council as a Corporate Body is Trustee of the Charity. 

- 2.2 To comply with the requirements of the Charity Commissioners, the Trust is required to meet annually to approve the Financial Statement and the Annual Return. 

- 2.3 The Trust is also charged with the responsibility for the maintenance of the G V Ball Memorial in Southam Road Cemetery.  Failure to maintain the memorial would result in the land being transferred to The Horton Hospital. 

## **3. Report of Activities in 2022/2023** 

- 3.1 The main project undertaken in this year was the completion of the Toilet Block conversion to a café, as well as design consideration of the Victorian walled garden adjacent to the new toilet block and community building. 

- 3.2 The Income and Expenditure Account is attached at **Appendix 1** detailing the annual running costs and donation from Banbury Town Council. 

- 3.3 The G V Ball Memorial in Southam Road Cemetery has been maintained. 

## **4. Recommendations** 

That the Trustees authorise: 

1. the Chairman to sign the Financial Statement; and 

2. the Town Clerk to complete the Annual Return of the G V Ball Charity (People’s Park) Banbury Trust.
