**Objects:** TO ADVANCE EDUCATION IN MICROBIOLOGY IN SCHOOLS. IN THIS CONTEXT MICROBIOLOGY IS USED TO DENOTE ANY STUDIES INVOLVING BACTERIA, FUNGI, MICRO-ALGAE, PROTOZOA, SLIME MOULDS, VIRUSES, OR CELLS OR HIGHER ORGANISMS GROWN IN CULTURE, AND THE APPLICATION OF THESE STUDIES IN SOCIETY, INDUSTRY AND THE ENVIRONMENT.

**Activities:** MiSAC exists to promote the teaching of microbiology in schools. It is a recognised source of authoritative advice on the safe use of microorganisms, develops practical activities, produces regular bulletins and briefings for teachers and runs an annual schools competition.
