legacy continues to be the driving fi)rtr of the Charity's mIS￿On to keep the true sound and music of the great
composers of the past alive through conservatlon of histortc keyboard instruments and enabling than to be
played by both professlonal performers and stLKlents.
Thanks to an eadler legaLV campaign the Charity is immensely grateful to those were klThJ enDLwh to leave
legacy in their will.

The Charity's activities continue to be centred arouThJ tre Rlchard Burnett Collecbon of Early Keyboard
Instruments of 14 historic instruments representlng the devdopment of the keyboard from the seventeenth to
mid-nineteenth ￿tury up untll the intrcéuctlon of the modern planoforte. Thi5 colkrtlon, whlch Is on loan to
the Charity, is historicalty 5ignlflcant and Indeed unlque in that all 14 instruments can te played by experts and
stsjdents.

The malntenance of the instruments {whlth 15 the re5pon51blllty of the thartty) Is a contlnuous and challenglng
d)jethve. These old and dellcate instsuments require expert handllng, tunlng and cOnSeNa￿on. They were all
comprehensbvdy restored between 2017 and 2019 but Con￿nUe to require regular attentlon, especlally tefore
perfomiance5. There are few and decreasing numbers of experts skllled In thls vltsl work, therefore the Charty
has fcused on findlng ways to advance opportunlties and bzlnlng for Indmduals Interested In a career In
malntslnlng h15toric keytvard5.
In earty 2022 the Charty stsrted to organise weekend wortshops for amateurs and OWr￿ of early keyt*Jards
Instruments Interested In developing their 5ki115 in tuning and restoration.

groups attending local %h¢)01s.
