The Trust supports investments and equipment purchases made by FE colleges and the University of Portsmouth, with the aim of giving maximum benefit for disabled students. The Trust also responds to individual needs of students through grant applications. The Trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission’s public benefit guidance when exercising any duties to which the guidance is relevant.

Grants are given to institutions, so that there is more potential of benefiting a greater number of disabled students, and more opportunity to support larger projects, whilst enabling responses to be made to individual applications.

Approximately £714,000 is invested in Fixed Interest and Ethical Investment Funds as at 31 March 2022.  The investment policy applied to the latter Fund includes restrictions in the following areas: 

- Fossil fuel extraction 

- Armaments 

- Tobacco 

- Alcohol 

- Adult entertainment 

- Gambling 

- Animal testing of cosmetics 

The funds are open to investment risks of a downturn in the equity market, however the intended investment strategy for the portfolio is low risk.

Responslbllities and As the charity trustees of the Trust. you are responsible for the preparation
basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the raquirements of the Charities Act
2011 {Ihe Act-).
I report in resped of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I
