Trustees are elected at the AGM and shall hold office until the next AGM. Trustees have the power to co-opt committee members/trustees at any time, and co-opted committee members/trustees shall serve until the date of the next AGM. |

The object of the Association is to advance the education of pupils in the school by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the school, not normally provided by the local education authority. The Trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the Association’s aims and objectives and in planning future activities. The Friends of Walker school is a group of parents and staff volunteers. The charity raises money for the school by running a varied programme of events throughout the school year. The Friends of Walker hold regular committee meetings where staff, parents and others associated with the school are encouraged and welcome to participate. |

| The results for the year include the Christmas and Summer Fairs which helped bring together Walker school pupils and their families. The trustees were encouraged with the turnout at organised events and were happy to see the children particularly enjoying the fairs and special events such as the Wild animal night with their friends. The charity was able to make donations of £19,944 to the school. This included funding for specific items including internal artwork and vinyl coverings for the school staircases. The charity also helped fund a book vending machine to help rewardpupils forgood behaviour and to encourage reading. |

The Friends of Walker School Year Ended 31 August 2023
As with previous years, the FOW committee and reps continue to work closely with the school headteacher and deputy to make donations towards activities and resources to benefit the pupils’ education, where local authority budget allocations do not stretch.
During 2022/23 we helped donate, amongst other things, items such as learning resources, Mandarin lessons and classroom activities through the year..

Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of The Friends of Walker School
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of The Friends of Walker School for the year ended 31 August 2023, which are set out on pages 3 to 7.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the association you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011(‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the Association’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
(1) accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
(2) the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
