The Charity is constituted as an Association
Trustse selettion methods
Trustees are elected at the AGM and shall hold office until the next AGM.
Trustees have the power to co-opt committee memberslcrustres at any
time, and co-opted committee membersltrustres shall serve until the date of the
next AGM.

document
The objett of the Association is to advance the educition of pupils in the school
by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the school,
not normally provided by the local education authoriry.
The Trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance contained in the
Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the
Association s aims and objectives and in planning future activities.

The Friends of Walker school is a group of parents and staff Yolunteers.
The charity raises money for the school by running a varied programme of events
throughout the school year.
The Friends of Walker hold regular committee meetings where staff, parents and
others a55oeiated with che school are encouraged and welcome to parucipate.
Summary ofthe main
achievements of the charity
during the year
Following the easing of Covid-19 restrictions during the year the trustees were
keen to ￿tUrn to in-person community fundraising events.
The results for the year include the return of the popular Christmas and Summer
Fairs which helped bring together Walker school pupils and their families, some of
which had not yet experienced in-person events and the school spirit since starting
ac the School. The trustees were encouraged with the turnout at or¥dnised events
and were happy to see the children parricularfy enjoying the fairs and events such as
the movie nights with their friends.

The charity wa5 able to make donations of £27,400 to the school. This included
funding the playground project which delivered a new shelter, tipi's and mud
kitchens for the children to enjoy outdoor learning.
As with previous year5, the FOW committee and reps contynue to work c105ety
with the school headteacher and deputy to make donations towards activities and
resources to benefit the pupils. education. where local authority budget illocations
do not st￿tCh. During 2021122 we helped donate, amongst other things, items such
a5 learning resources, replacement bikes for the reception classes, and Mandarin
lessons.

## **Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of The Friends of Walker School** 

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of The Friends of Walker School for the year ended 31 August 2022, which are set out on pages 3 to 7. 

## **Responsibilities and basis of report** 

As the charity trustees of the association you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011(‘the Act’). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Association’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act. 

## **Independent examiner’s statement** 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

(1) accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or 

(2) the accounts do not accord with those records. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
