NORWICH GYMNASTICS CLUB TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT Registered Charity No. 2882 13 Report for the financial yeaT beginning 1st January 2023 and ending 31" December 2023 Charity's Principal Address: . 7 Denmead Close, Eaton, Norwich, NR4 6NB. CHARITY trustees: _ l. Richard Halford 2. Terry Pyle 3. Hayley Bond 4. Sue Brown Aims and Ob'ectives To continue to promote any charitable purposes within the area of Gymn&8tics and give special priority to the involvement and development within the local community and schools. It is always our intention to offer enjoyable gymnastics to the wide spectrum of children who attend our club from those who just enjoy one hour a week to work safely on the apparatus to learn skills to those who are very competitive to give them the opportunity to develop and improve and develop their various skills. Plus. we have now included General Gymnastics wheTe the main skills e tumble and trampette. 50 that those children who are not comfortable with the bars and beam requirements cau enjoy development and the opportunity to compete and enjoy the success of the awards also. We now involve 13-year-olds, as British Gymnastics bave lowered the age, who are interested in shadowing coaching staff and continue to develop our young teenagers which is the first official step as a coach and then they are in a position to continue that development to higher levels when they are slightly older and interested in developing a possible coaching career. In fact all of our members of staff have developed through that system and now have their own families and homes whilst continuing to love and be involved with gymnastics. Strncture and Policies The club is run by our executive comn]ittee who are made up of Chaimian, Leader, Secretary, Treasurer, Fund Raising Representatives and Trustees, plus our Welfare Officers. which we have two: and representatives from the Girls Artistic and Boys Artistic, are Invited to give OT send in their reports on various events and achievements. Plus, we do now have various sub-committees in place for finance, coaching and fidraISing matters. Fund raising activities continue with an in house for our beginner and interniediate gYnasts and various gym parties etc. Many more of the Norfolk County schools attend sessions, within the school period, which the staff nu] and liase with the teachers present, with the finale being a sm811 demonstration from our still enthusiastic staff who are all ex-competitor5. We are continuing the policy of keeping the training fees as low as possible but unfortunately, with our sudden exorbitant gas and electricity bills we are very stretched to pay those bills at the moment. The new non-competitive class for our ex-competition gymnasts who love the sport and just want to enjoy the sport without the pressure of competitions has been very popular. Consequently, we see the older teenagers still working and enjoying their sport of gymnastics. Plus we continue to support the Work Experience activity in conjunction with the local schools which is as popular as ever and another activity that has been really successful in bringing young people into the sport as coaches and giving them a little insight into work ethics.
Activities l. Girls Artistic G astics The Girls groups still remain the biggest gTOUP of children attending the club from Recreational, Beginners and Intern]ediates. through to our top competitOTS. 2.Bo s Artistic G At the moment the boy5 section still remains quite small, but we have seen not only succes5 Wlth our top competitive perforniers, but also success and more development with our ProgTessive and Intern]ediate boys groups. 4. Pre-school Unforttmately, although we hope to re-start our Pre-school sessions, the cost of nulning the facility does not make it fe&sible to start the session again at the moment. 5 Coachin Our enthusiastic coaches continue to attend coaching clinics and higher-level coaching courses to fiffther their knowledge and to help our members to continue to develop and enjoy the 5POrt. Some of our young coaches have been able to commence the first main levels of coaching online which has been essential to keep the Coaches involved with their own personal development and PTogress. Plus, two of the staff aTe tn the process of taking the higher level 3 and 4 awards, due to the lockdown setting them back to complete the award. FinanciaI R ort The accounts show a loss of income for the year of £3,441 compared to a excess of £2.073 the previous ye, due to the huge increases in the gas and electricity bills. On the brighter side we did run the popular Easter and Summer School training events during the school holidays wF)ich rdised £7,580. Fortunately, our in-house award scheme brought in £3.810 and Club competition £2,415.
