THE HARENC COMMUNITY TRUST
CHARITY REGISTRATION NUMBER 288051
ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDING 25 NOVEMBER 2023
This has been a successful year for the trust and for the first timemSwerRave beenyoo, able to make grants in excess of our regular income. The capital of the trust remains invested with Brewin Dolphin.
Our main grant beneficiaries this year have been St Johns Church (new sound system support for Ukrainian English classes and a singing group for those with dementia), All Saints Church (Quinquennial repairs), 3" Royal Eltham scout group, Woodlands Trust, Sidcup debt advice and CRIBS. We continue to collaborate with St Lawrence Charitable Fund in supporting low income and vulnerable people in our area and joint fund of the Sidcup Christmas luncheon.
We do not anticipate any change in funding or grant expenditure over the coming year. There will be one change to our Trustees. We thank Nic Turner for his work for the trust over many years but who is now unfortunately too ill to continue. He will be replaced by Liz Tragheim who is closely involved with several of the community activities listed above and her appointment will be ratified at our next meeting.
Dr Steve Gregson 29" January 2024

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT ON THE RECEIPTS AND PAYMENTS ACCOUNTS REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF HARENC COMMUNITY TRUST
CHARITY REGISTRATION NUMBER 288051
ON ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 25 NOVEMBER 2023
SET OUT ON PAGES THREE AND FOUR
Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under Section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to
-
e Examine the accounts under section 145 ofthe[Charities][Act,] © To follow procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act, and
-
¢ To state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
-
Basis of Independent Examiner’s My examination was carried out in accordance with the genera! Directions Statement given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review ofthe accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of[the][accounts] presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a “true and fair” view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent Examiner’s In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my Statement attention:
-
(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements
-
¢ to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of[the] Charities Act; and
-
¢ to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the Accounting requirements of the Charities Act have not been met, or
-
(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a per understanding ofthe accounts to be reached.
