OBJECTIVES The prime objective ot the Association is to advance the education ot the pupils at Farringtons School (hereinafter referred to as "The School") by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the School. As ancillary thereto. and in furtherance of the aforementioned objective, the Association shall: a) foster and encourage good relations between the staff, parents, guardians and others connected with the School. b) engage in activities which support the school and advance the education of the pupils; b} provide, and help to provide additional facilities, both educational and recreational, for the benefit of the pupils. The Association shall in no way seek to interfere with the discipline and work of the school (except as specifically requested by the Headmaster) or any other responsibility of the Governors and Headmaster. In planning our activities for the year, w¢ kept in mind the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit ai our Trustee meeiing%. Throughoui Ihe school year we continued as a group lo focus on fun, inclusive fundraising events, which would in turn benefit the school. I'm pleased to say our efforts were a huge success, raising a grand total of £36142. The School Shop remains a key resource for parents to pick up new and used uniform and a great source of income. We must give great thanks to Liz Johnston, Claire Wooldridge and all regular and occasional volunteers who keep the shop well stocked and running smoothly, as a result the school shop raised a total £7,666 which was a phenomenal amount considering supplier costs are rising. Parents continue to donate £10 per temi per family to the FPA through their school fees (subscriptions). This raised a total of £9,600, which was a decline year on year, but as this is out of our control, we made great efforts to make the difference up in our usual annual events. The FPA ran our usual range of well-attended fundraising events. The Fireworks spectacular in November was a great success (despite the weather) and another sell out event. The FPA team decided to go the extra mile this year adding several innovations to extend the range of attractions for our visltors. The event made a net profit of £7551 and remains one of our biggest events throughout the year. A big thanks to FPA members and school staff for putting on this enjoyable night that really brings the comn]unity together. The Christmas Market in December took a real step fonvard, with a dedicated Santa's Grotto and Experience in the Junior Hall organised brilliantly by Karen Hoath and her Elves, plus the introduction of entry fees being E-sign ID.. 1beef70f-361N7b3-94ff-a6167803a030 collected from our visitors. The event made a net profit of £4,444. Thanks as always to Sophie McLaughlin for leading the organisation of the event, and FPA members and school staff for making the day a testive highlight. The Quiz Night in March was a fun-filled evening, making a net profit of £1,078 and has now become an annual tradition. Thanks to Rob Pacitto on a fantastic job for organising the event, but an even better job as quizmaster. Our Special Person Gift Shops for Christmas, Mothers, Da}, and Fathers, Day were a great success as always. Great thanks go to Lisa Presland for organising these events so seamlessly, and to the FPA and school staff who volunteered across the three days. Finally, the Summer Fun Day in June wa5 surely the finest ever staged. Sophie McLaughlin was as ever a tren]endous organiser of the event that saw the widest ever range of stalls and attractions and another terrific raffle. Thanks also to Andy Hoath for securing sponsorship of the event from Mercedes-Benz of Dartford, who a￿1Ved with a wide range of be4lUtiful car5. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TRUSTEES AND THE EXAMINER The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under Section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act)) and that an independent exainination is required. It is my responsibility to- exaniine the account5 under Section 145 of the 201 l Act lo follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under Section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act); and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
