In selectlng the Trustees, the AssociatiDn seeks to identify people who have got special skills and or are
Wllling to dedlcate their preclous ￿me for the benefft of the community. fhere is no fornial trdining given
to the new Trustees but ample guidance and support Is proviLled. The Trustees consist of four Office
Bearers and seven Committee Members, who are elected at the Annval General Meeting by a simple
majority and hold office for a tenn of two consecutive years and thereafter ar8 subjéct to re-election.
They are supported by a Board of Holding Trustees comprising of up to five Holding Trustees who are a150
elected at the Annual General Meeting. The Holdlng Trustees are there to guide, support and provide
thei¥ experience to the Trustees and re5dve any disputes, if any. All Trustees give their time voluntary
and recelve no remuneratlon or other benellts.
Organisatlonal Strurture
The Tr￿SteeS meet together as a body monthfy, and are respor¢sible for 311 decisions taken in relation to
runrnin8 and mana8in8 the activitie5 provided by the charity. To assist in the smwth running of the
charity. the Trustees have set up a number of sub-comrnittees that help them oveisee certain aspect5 of
the charity's work.
A buildin8 committee is currently set up for bL¢ilding project who report back with their
recommendatlons as and when an opportunity to purchase a community hall or an investment property
arises. In addition to this there is an events team , who take fvll responsibility of organising all the
charity's events.
Annual budgets and event budgets are Prepared. After every event. the Treasurer will prèsent a report
explaining the variance between the budget and actual event costs. In addition. the charlty accounts are
regularly exp131ned to the Trustees anij are open for rnemberfs inspection at any time. The charity is
5atisf1ed that Systems are tn place to mitl8ate exposure to the major risks. The charity 15 open to the usual
financial risks of any organ153tion and has introduced controls to minimlse these rlsks, such as two
signatures belng requlred for payments from bank account.
Objectives and actlvlties
The objective5 are that of preservation of Hindu cultural values and knowledge within the Suth3r and
other wider communities as well as supporting other charitable causes. In setting out the objectives and
planning the activrties, the Trustee5' have given careful consideration to complying with the duty in

Cornmission.
With public beneftt in n7ind the charlty provldes approprlate communal lacilities for recreational. s(Jclal.
educational and c¢Jltural activities, so as to further the welfare within the association.

Aehlevements and Perfomianee
From March 2020, the country continued to be gripped by the Corona Virus Pandemic which put a halt tD
most of the core event5 In the year. However, the charity did put up some events such as Navratri and
Diwali progtsmmes. These were undertaken obserying the strict government Buldellne5 related to Covld
19. On 26 April 2021, SVA UK got the keys to the Funrtion Hall in Kingsbury on a 10 year rental
lease.Refurbishment works were carried out to the Nall and we would like to thank all the ¥olunteer5
who came out and assisted in this huge project. The hall has already proved to be popular among local
((￿MunitIeS and is currently belng let out for small functions.
HMRC Gift ald Collertion
The charity continued to receive dgnations throughout the year from the public at large. At the beginning
of the financial year. the charity made a claim for gift aid due on the vèrious donation5 received in the
financial year 2020. The Trustees are pleased to confirm that the tharity ¥eceived £555 from HMRC. The
Trusiees would like to thank you all for continued support throughout the year and hope thls would
cuntinue into the foreseeable future.
Financial Review
The charlty's cash at bank balance as at 31 December 2021 stood at £158.44512020.. £184,840). The net
decrease in tash durlng the year was £26,395 mainly due to one off Funrtion Hall refurbishments
ndertaken at the newly acqtjlred Function Hall, Hall rent expense and rent deposit paid.
Reserves Policy
Unrestricteil Funds are requlred:
l To provide funds which can be designated to specific projects at short notice-
bl To coverfluctuations in income and unplanned expendtture.
The Trustee5 consider it prudent that unrestrlcted reserves should be sufficient:
al To avoid the necesslty of realising fixed assets held for the Charity's use..
bl To tover one year's direct charitable expenditure.
tl The level DI reseTve5 15 monitored and reviewed by the Trustees once a yeai.
As at 31st Oecember 2021, unrestricted cash funds stood at £40,697 12020..£80.1431. The Charity also
held £117,748 12020.. £104.6971 of restricted cash funds which have been provided for the purposes
specified in N¢3te 2.

"Centre for Art and Recreation for All ' (CARE 4 ALL)
This thnd, which commcnced on 15th August 1989, is specifically set-up to acounulatc fimds to
acquire a Community Centre, a place where th¢ CIiarity's activities can be held. All income designated
foT this fund is crcditcd to tbe fund. During the year, receipts totalling £20.907 was received.
Designated Fund "Vlshwakarnia Satsang Mandal Fund"
This is a fund from "Vishwakarnia Satsang Mandal lJ)ndon" . who had decided in 2007 to leave the
fimd with thc association on an interest bcaring basis to bc uscd towards a futur¢ property. If the
donation is not so used, the dq)osit plus interest can be claimed back by Vi.%hwakanna Satsang
mI￿ddI. This arrangement was appruved in thc 2008 adjourned ￿T￿Val Gencral Meeting. Thcrc was
only a nominal amount of interest received durin¥ Lh¢ year. This fund is included within the Restricted
fijnds in thc rcccipts and paymcnts.
