REPORT of TRUSTEES for YEAR to 5 APRIL 2023 

THE TRUST EXISTS for the benefit of or in future furtherance of such charitable purposes or Charitable foundations in England in such manner and in such proportions as the Trustees may from time to time in their discretion determine. 

In the year to April 2023, the Trust made the second and third donations of a total pledge of £550,000 to King’s College, Cambridge, in response to its Appeal.  These two donations totalled £350,500. They were funded by incoming grants of £118,750 from the major donor, sales of investments of approximately £100,000 by Cazenove Capital, and cash at bank. 

Ten other donations were made, totalling £17,000. 

Expenditure for the year was £1,668, a decrease on the prior year’s £2,528, as a result of lower professional and management fees. 

As at the date of this report, the Trust had cash at bank of £85,924 and investments at Cazenove with a market value of £110,749.

In accordance with the engagement letter we have compiled the accounts of The Stuart and Ellen Lyons Charitable Trust for the year ended 5 April 2023, set out on pages 3- 7 from the accounting records and information and explanations you have given to Us. This report is made to you, in accordance with the terms of engagement. Our work has been undertaken so that we might compile the accounts that we have been engaged to compile report to you that we have done so, and state those matters we have agreed to state to you in this report and for no other purpose.
