Taverham and District Day Centre.
Annual Report.
Reporting on the past year April 22 to March 23
Chairman’s report 22nd August22
I think it has been a good year for the day centre. There are now 33members on the register. In the past year 6 members have left the day centre, and 7new members have joined. It is with sadness I report the deaths of George Cooper, Marie Lemmon, Barbara Gidney and Pat Kerry . Kathy has resigned from the day centre, she was finding it too stressful. I am pleased that Lorraine has agreed to take on some of the duties carried out by Kathy
During the past financial year we have received a number of generous donations. Taverham Lions Club donation towards the cost of Christmas celebrations. Broadland District Council grants used for DBS checks, new cushions, kitchen equipment and dart board game. Taverham vets and Tesco Drayton store donations which support member’s outings.
In the past year there have been a number of special events. The Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth and Coronation of King Charles III and another visit of the mini donkeys. There were enjoyable outings to the Brick Kiln restaurant at Little Plumsted and Paul Graves farm at Briston An outing is being planned to visit the Holt Garden Centre on the 3[rd] October There has been the usual mixture of entertainers and I thank Corrine for the encouragement of craft activities. A trained seated exercise leader , Joe Smth, will be at the day centre at 1.30pm on Tuesday 10[th] October
We thank our president Caroline for her support during the past year. Caroline as kindly agreed to be a trustee of the day centre replacing Rev Paul Seabrooke. Many thanks to Marie, she chooses the menus, prepares the shopping list, does the cooking with the help of Corrine, and then serves the great dinners. We thank our treasurer Roger who works at home dealing with the complex handling of our finances.
I thank you all, staff and members, for making my duties as chairman so enjoyable.
