**Valley Primary School Parent Teacher Association** Registered Charity Number: 286963 Beckenham Lane, Bromley, BR2 0DA Telephone: 020 8460 1121 Email: valleyptabromley@hotmail.com ## **Trustee’s Annual Report** ## 1[st] April 2022 to 31[st] March 2023 ## _**Serious Incidents**_ _There are no serious incidents to report in this period._ ## **About the Valley Primary School Parent Teacher Association’s (PTA)** - a) Trustees: - Mr Timothy Counihan: co-chair - Ms Alya Gribi: co-chair - Ms Eva Lyons: co-treasurer - Mr Brendan Donegan: co-treasurer - Mrs Fiona Jane Cowood: co-secretary - Mrs Victoria Mitchenell: co-secretary - b) How the PTA recruits trustees: Trustees are elected by simple majority vote at the Annual General Meeting. - c) Structure and details of how its managed The PTA is managed according to its constitution adopted at a meeting held on 30th March 2017, based on PTA UK model constitution 2016 for use by Parent Teacher Associations. - d) Objectives: The object of the PTA is to advance the education of pupils in the school, in particular by: - Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school. - Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils. - e) Achievements and performance - Community Building: Organised 10-12 events with help from 50+ volunteers and linking with local organisations, businesses, and charities, benefitting 1000+ community members. - Representation, inclusivity, and diversity: Additional outreach activities to increase representation, inclusivity and diversity (including within the committee) with specific workshops and events bringing together a wider representation of the local community. - Environmental: Improvements to the environment of Valley Primary School with a focus on the provision of equipment for outdoor education, sustainability, and reduction of waste. - Financial: Improvements to the financial systems, operations, and reporting, including online payments, provision of card readers and gift aid registration. - The opening balance of the PTA funds were £33k on 1[st] April. Funds were spent towards £25k of items for the school and pupil’s benefit. Closing balance of £25k. In the reporting year, the PTA organised events and activities to fundraise for the provision of IT equipment, educational materials, outdoor play facilities, workshops etc to benefit the pupils of the school, including SEN pupils. - g) Commission’s guidance PB3 Public benefit: reporting - This is to confirm we have read the Commission’s guidance PB3 Public benefit document on reporting. ## **Where the money comes from** - a) Financial review: - The PTA raised £25k from fundraising activities and £2,221 from donations - Net income of £15,527 from fundraising activities, (after costs of £9,981) - Profit of £17,655 (excluding school funded items, includes donations and miscellaneous costs) - School items funded (detailed below) total £25,623. - Overall deficit for the period was £7,969 ## b) Debts - There are no debts in the year, or at 31[st] March 2023 - c) Details of reserves: - On 31[st] March 2923, there is £25,314 cash held. Majority (£25,093) is held in the main bank account. £216 in petty cash and £5 in PayPal. - d) Any funds held as a custodian trustee - No funds are held as custodian trustree Continued on the next page….
