They have the skills, dedication and enthusiasm when<br>real emergency calls are in progress.  They work as a team and<br>ensure safety comes first for each of them and all those involved.<br>Our volunteers also work endlessly at fundraising events to<br>secure monies to maintain our equipment and cover our running<br>costs each year.  This year we organised an open day which was<br>another successful day, raising over £5k.<br>We also, for the second time organised in partnership with our<br>local snack hut “Eaters” Carols at Eaters just before christmas<br>which was extremely popular and raised for us over £300.<br>Some of our voluntary crew members have formed a Shanty<br>Group called the Pett Slip Buoys. They give up more of their time<br>by attending practice sessions every Monday evening||

Our generous donors who, without their help and support, we could not continue to function. 

We have a new Fund raiser who will be looking into grant applications to raise money for our larger projects. A planning application has been accepted to rebuild and extend our lifeboat shed.  Volunteers are working hard to raise the £70k funds to make this happen.

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

Successfully run an open day achieving a gross income of over £5k. 

Boosted our presence on the web and social media, raising awareness of PLIRB and its activities. 

With successful fundraising and generous donations this year, we were able to: 

Purchase new life jackets with improved lighting system and two new drysuits for new crew members. 

To enable us to continue to work towards becoming a Declared facility, a number of courses were attended by some of our helms and crew members;   a three day UK Sar Level 3 Casualty care course.  One Helm member attended and passed PRR training course and RYA Day skipper Course 

Our new and exciting Sea Shanty group made up of all volunteer crew members have attended numerous venues at no charge but have raised approximately £5000 in donations to go towards the £70k needed for a New Lifeboat. 

We have been successful in our application for two grants this year; £250 from Fairlight Parish Council and £4646 from UK Sar to pay for the training couses needed for our Declared facility application. Received a £35k Grant from Valerie Morant Trust via Herringtons Solicitor’s.  This has been split between a number of our current projects. 

The Lifeboat has attended 24 urgent call outs this year, such as; 3 x yacht incidents, swimmer in distress, kite surfer in distress, capsized boat with 4 casualties in the water, missing walker at Rock-A-Nore, missing children at Camber Sands, jellyfish sting, casualty stuck in the mud: these are just a few of the many different tasks our Lifeboat and First Aiders deal with, in different locations and at various times of the day/night.
