## **ANNUAL REPORT** 

During the last year we have managed to complete the installation of the solar panels at the hall. On behalf of all the committee, I wish to thank Max Ford for overseeing the project and for dealing with the installer who did appear to be a little difficult (and illusive) at times! Anyway, panels are now installed and working and hopefully we will begin to see a reduction in our electricity bills. 

I am pleased to report that the bookings continue to increase and we are now at the position where our income is exceeding our running costs most months. Thanks to Amanda for managing the bookings and also for all her efforts with keeping the hall in the condition all our hirers have come to expect. 

I also wish to make special reference to our treasurer, Russell Couch, who has had a very difficult year in dealing with the bureaucracy involved in proving to Barclays that we are just trying to run an account for a small charity, responsible for the day to day running of a village hall ,and that we are not running a multinational company. Russell just managed to sort out Barclays when along came more problems with Octupus, our electricity provider, who are convinced that we are incapable of reading an electric meter and relaying the readings onto them. Many thanks Russell, and I hope next year (should you decide to continue as treasurer) you have a hassle-free year. 

In addition to the solar panels, we have also seen other improvements at the hall during the year, including the installation of new speakers, which were installed in collaboration with the Gosfield Players, and also the repairing of the wooden fence around the carpark. 

I am pleased to report that we have been able to secure a free internet connection at the hall for another year (courtesy of Giga-Clear) which is very much appreciated by many of our hirers. I also have to thank the Trustees of the Rowson Perpetual Memorial Fund for the grants they have given the hall over the last year which included the full cost of the solar panels, the repair to the carpark fence and a repair to the roof of the hall. 

In conclusion, I would like to thank all the committee for giving up their time to ensure that the hall continues to run smoothly and be a superb asset for the village with a special thanks to our long time secretary, Bill Pasfield who, every month, manages to produce the minutes from the last meeting just by taking down a few notes as the meeting progresses.
