The School welcomes pupils from all backgiounds. To admtt a prospecbve pupil we need to be satisfied that our
School will be able to educate and develop a child to the best of thèir potential. Entiance Interviews and
assessments are undertaken lo sab.sfy both Ourselves and the parents that the pupil can cope with the pa￿ of
education we provide.
Our Aims
The objects of the S¢hool are the advancement ol education ol boys and gir15 and in parti￿￿ar to maintain a boys
and girls day school in Southsea, Hampshire.
We airn through our Junior and Senior Sd)ools to prowde a first dass education to boys and gids from the ages of 2
to 16. We seek lo provide a structured educats.onal environment that develops our pupils. capabilitie5, competencies
and skills. We promote the acadernic. Moral and physical developrnent of our pupi15 through our academic
curriculum, pastoral caie. sporting and other actmties. We provide an eduoalional environment where each student
can develop and fulfil their potential, building their self-confjdence, which will enab￿ them to contribute to the wider
communrty In doing 50, we prepare our pupils foi the opportunrties. responsibililies and experiences ol later lrfe.

In setting our objectives the Trustees have been given careful consideration to the Charity CommissK)n's guidance
on advancing education and fee charging. The objethves refiect our educational 3ims as well as the 9ener&l othos
of the School.

Significant activities and achievemenfs against obfftctwes
The academic perfornan￿ ol all pupils is carefully monrtored to ensure that each child will frjlfil their potential. 2024
saw the departing Yeai 11 pupils achieve an 84°A overall pass late IEngLHnd average 67.6°/ol. The pass rate in core
subjed5 was 880
Our high value-added scores saw pupils ¢ontinue to ex￿ed expectations - 15°A more pupils gained grade 5 and
higher in English and Maths as measured againsl their expected outcome. As an indusive school, we strive to
ensure that no child is left behind and that all pupils achieve Iheii own personal best. In 2024, the pass rale for
pupils with special educab.onal needs was 81%.
The School wekomed its first pupils to WyvÈrn House whth openeLI in September 2023. As a Secondary Special
Educalional Needs day sctto(A setting, Wem offers a calm environment for pupils betweèn the ages of 11-16 with
a range ol neurodiverse needs Indvding ADHD and ASD, to build confidence and piepare them for the next slage of
their educational journey_ The majority of pups'ls who attend Wem have an EHCP. but r)ol all.
Folbwing tre General Election and Ihe new Labour Govemmenfs announcement that VAT Is lo be applied to
Independent School fees from January 202S. the Sthod's finance team prepared a VAT implemenlalion plan to
ensure they were ready to issue VAT inGlusive fee invoices for the Spnng Temi and the first VAT return as at the end
of February 2025.
On 17 June 2024. the lunds and assets of MaywNe High Stho(A TTUSI were transferred to Mayville High School.
The Head Teacher, Mrs Rebecca Parkyn MA (Oxonl PGCE MCIL. NpaEL and her staff continue to provide security
and opportunities for each child so that they may undertake theif Studies and development in a safe. happy
enwronment. The Ttustees are grateful to the staff for their dedication tts the School and the way in which they
project Iotward the reputation of the school and instill Confiden￿ in the pupils who attend_ The Trustees are
lortunate to have the support of past pupils and an active PTA who assisl the *hool in many ways.

In accordance with ils charrtable objects Ihe School has Continued to offer scholarships and assisted places to
pupils who might nol otherwise benefit from the outstsnding education and faulities available at Maymlle. During the
year £289,051 {2022123 £249.8741 was awarded In means-tesled fee assisiance to 45 12022123 461 pupils. To
further broaden acces5. scholarships are awarded each year lo recognise ach*vement and contribution to the
Sthool. Seh(Aaiships worth £475.480 were awarded during the yÈar12022r23 £435.7571. to 84 pupils12022123 981.
The School has additionally supported outside charities both horne and abroad. and assisted with work in the local
c(Knwnunity.
ReseThes policy
It is the policy of Ihe charity th3t unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be
maintained al a level equivalent to beiween three and six month's expendrfure. The trustees con5xler that resetVè5
at this level will ensure that. in the event of a significant drop in funding. they will be able to continue the charity's
curtenl aclNrties while consideration Is given to ways in vthich addthonal funds may be raised. Th15 level of reserves
has been rnaintained throughout the year.
Plans for future periods
During the next year the school plans to continue io buikl on the St￿CeSs of Ihe Wyvern ajtemative Pfovision and
increase the number of pupils to 25.

The financial statements have been prepared In accordance wrth the charity's deed ol trust. the Memoran¢Jum
and Articles of Assoc7alion, Ihe Companies Act 2005. FRS 102 "The Financial Reporting Slandard appllcable
in the UK and Republic of Ireland. I"FRS 102.1 and the Charities SORP "Accounting and Reporting by
Charities.. Statement ol Recommended PractK% appl¢cable to charities preparing their accounts in aeeordance
wrth the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic ol Ireland IFRS 1021. leffeGtive 1
January 20191. The chanty Is a Public Benefft Entsty as defined by FRS 102.
The financial slalements are prepared in stedTrng. which is the functional currency of the charity. Monetsry
amounts in these finanaal slatements are ri)unded to the nearest £.
The financial staternents have been prepared under the historical u)st wnventson. The p￿n￿paI accounting
poliryes adopted are set out below.
1.2 Going concem
Al Ihe lime of approwng the financial statements. the Irustees have a reasonabk expectation that thè charity
has adequate resources to conb.nue in operational existence for the foreseeable fLrture. Thus the trustees
continue to adopt the going wncem basis of accounting in preparing Ihe finanrAal staternenls.

Unrestncted ftjnds are available for use at the discretson of the tnjstees in furtherance ol their Gharrtable
objectives.
Designated funds compnse funds which have been set a*de al the disctetion of the trustees for specffic
purposes. The purposes and uses of the designated lunds ale set out in the notes lo the fin8nual slalements.
Rèslncted fvnds are Subject to specific conditions by donots or grantors as to how they may be used. The
purposes and uses ol the restricted fvnds a￿ sel out in the rK)les fo Ihe financial statements.
1.4 Income
Income is recognised when the charity is legaly entrtled to it after any perfomiance conditions have been met,
the amounts can be measured reliabty. and it is probable thai inwme will be received.
Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donations are recognised once Ihe charity has been notified
ol the donation. unless perfomiance condits"on5 require deferral of the amount. Income tax recoverable In
relalion to donations recewed under G[ft￿d or deeds of ¢J)veRant is recognised at the ts'me of the donatK)n.
Don8led goods are measured at thei* fair value. unle55 irnpiactical to Measure the lair value reliably. Goods
donated for on-going use by a chatty in carrying out its activities are recognised as tangib￿ fixèd assets with
the corresponding gain iecognised as income from donations within the SOFA.
In common with any olher tsngible assets, d￿ated goods held as tangible fixed assels must be subject to
depreciation or amortisation and assessed for indications of their impaimient al the ieporting date.

and developmental delay or SEND. The fvnding is for usè in Ihe early year5 and is paid to the School to
support the children's identified needs.
On fj Qctober 2022. the School received a donatron tolalling £405.482 from a Trust. Th15 donation was
received for the purposes of the development of Ihe DLEU b4JddRigs al the Scho(A and was nol available for
general use.
These funds W￿￿ spent in f￿[ in the prior year on the new buildlng 24 St Simon's Road. for the purpose of the
nèw specia115t learning support wellbeing centre. Therefore. as these fvrK15 weie spent Ihey were transferred

The School welcomes pupils from all backgiounds. To admtt a prospecbve pupil we need to be satisfied that our

The academic perfornan￿ ol all pupils is carefully monrtored to ensure that each child will frjlfil their potential. 2024
saw the departing Yeai 11 pupils achieve an 84°A overall pass late IEngLHnd average 67.6°/ol. The pass rate in core
subjed5 was 880
Our high value-added scores saw pupils ¢ontinue to ex￿ed expectations - 15°A more pupils gained grade 5 and
higher in English and Maths as measured againsl their expected outcome. As an indusive school, we strive to
ensure that no child is left behind and that all pupils achieve Iheii own personal best. In 2024, the pass rale for
pupils with special educab.onal needs was 81%.
The School wekomed its first pupils to WyvÈrn House whth openeLI in September 2023. As a Secondary Special
Educalional Needs day sctto(A setting, Wem offers a calm environment for pupils betweèn the ages of 11-16 with
a range ol neurodiverse needs Indvding ADHD and ASD, to build confidence and piepare them for the next slage of
their educational journey_ The majority of pups'ls who attend Wem have an EHCP. but r)ol all.
Folbwing tre General Election and Ihe new Labour Govemmenfs announcement that VAT Is lo be applied to
Independent School fees from January 202S. the Sthod's finance team prepared a VAT implemenlalion plan to
ensure they were ready to issue VAT inGlusive fee invoices for the Spnng Temi and the first VAT return as at the end
of February 2025.
On 17 June 2024. the lunds and assets of MaywNe High Stho(A TTUSI were transferred to Mayville High School.
The Head Teacher, Mrs Rebecca Parkyn MA (Oxonl PGCE MCIL. NpaEL and her staff continue to provide security
and opportunities for each child so that they may undertake theif Studies and development in a safe. happy
enwronment. The Ttustees are grateful to the staff for their dedication tts the School and the way in which they
project Iotward the reputation of the school and instill Confiden￿ in the pupils who attend_ The Trustees are
lortunate to have the support of past pupils and an active PTA who assisl the *hool in many ways.

further broaden acces5. scholarships are awarded each year lo recognise ach*vement and contribution to the

The School has additionally supported outside charities both horne and abroad. and assisted with work in the local

ReseThes policy
It is the policy of Ihe charity th3t unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be
maintained al a level equivalent to beiween three and six month's expendrfure. The trustees con5xler that resetVè5
at this level will ensure that. in the event of a significant drop in funding. they will be able to continue the charity's
curtenl aclNrties while consideration Is given to ways in vthich addthonal funds may be raised. Th15 level of reserves
has been rnaintained throughout the year.
Plans for future periods
During the next year the school plans to continue io buikl on the St￿CeSs of Ihe Wyvern ajtemative Pfovision and
increase the number of pupils to 25.

The financial statements have been prepared In accordance wrth the charity's deed ol trust. the Memoran¢Jum
and Articles of Assoc7alion, Ihe Companies Act 2005. FRS 102 "The Financial Reporting Slandard appllcable
in the UK and Republic of Ireland. I"FRS 102.1 and the Charities SORP "Accounting and Reporting by

The financial slalements are prepared in stedTrng. which is the functional currency of the charity. Monetsry
amounts in these finanaal slatements are ri)unded to the nearest £.
The financial staternents have been prepared under the historical u)st wnventson. The p￿n￿paI accounting
poliryes adopted are set out below.
1.2 Going concem
Al Ihe lime of approwng the financial statements. the Irustees have a reasonabk expectation that thè charity
has adequate resources to conb.nue in operational existence for the foreseeable fLrture. Thus the trustees
continue to adopt the going wncem basis of accounting in preparing Ihe finanrAal staternenls.

Unrestncted ftjnds are available for use at the discretson of the tnjstees in furtherance ol their Gharrtable
objectives.
Designated funds compnse funds which have been set a*de al the disctetion of the trustees for specffic
purposes. The purposes and uses of the designated lunds ale set out in the notes lo the fin8nual slalements.
Rèslncted fvnds are Subject to specific conditions by donots or grantors as to how they may be used. The
purposes and uses ol the restricted fvnds a￿ sel out in the rK)les fo Ihe financial statements.
1.4 Income
Income is recognised when the charity is legaly entrtled to it after any perfomiance conditions have been met,
the amounts can be measured reliabty. and it is probable thai inwme will be received.
Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donations are recognised once Ihe charity has been notified
ol the donation. unless perfomiance condits"on5 require deferral of the amount. Income tax recoverable In
relalion to donations recewed under G[ft￿d or deeds of ¢J)veRant is recognised at the ts'me of the donatK)n.
Don8led goods are measured at thei* fair value. unle55 irnpiactical to Measure the lair value reliably. Goods
donated for on-going use by a chatty in carrying out its activities are recognised as tangib￿ fixèd assets with
the corresponding gain iecognised as income from donations within the SOFA.

and developmental delay or SEND. The fvnding is for usè in Ihe early year5 and is paid to the School to
support the children's identified needs.

received for the purposes of the development of Ihe DLEU b4JddRigs al the Scho(A and was nol available for
general use.

The School welcomes pupils from all backgiounds. To admtt a prospecbve pupil we need to be satisfied that our
School will be able to educate and develop a child to the best of thèir potential. Entiance Interviews and
assessments are undertaken lo sab.sfy both Ourselves and the parents that the pupil can cope with the pa￿ of
education we provide.
Our Aims
The objects of the S¢hool are the advancement ol education ol boys and gir15 and in parti￿￿ar to maintain a boys
and girls day school in Southsea, Hampshire.
We airn through our Junior and Senior Sd)ools to prowde a first dass education to boys and gids from the ages of 2
to 16. We seek lo provide a structured educats.onal environment that develops our pupils. capabilitie5, competencies
and skills. We promote the acadernic. Moral and physical developrnent of our pupi15 through our academic
curriculum, pastoral caie. sporting and other actmties. We provide an eduoalional environment where each student
can develop and fulfil their potential, building their self-confjdence, which will enab￿ them to contribute to the wider
communrty In doing 50, we prepare our pupils foi the opportunrties. responsibililies and experiences ol later lrfe.

In setting our objectives the Trustees have been given careful consideration to the Charity CommissK)n's guidance
on advancing education and fee charging. The objethves refiect our educational 3ims as well as the 9ener&l othos
of the School.

Significant activities and achievemenfs against obfftctwes
The academic perfornan￿ ol all pupils is carefully monrtored to ensure that each child will frjlfil their potential. 2024
saw the departing Yeai 11 pupils achieve an 84°A overall pass late IEngLHnd average 67.6°/ol. The pass rate in core
subjed5 was 880
Our high value-added scores saw pupils ¢ontinue to ex￿ed expectations - 15°A more pupils gained grade 5 and
higher in English and Maths as measured againsl their expected outcome. As an indusive school, we strive to
ensure that no child is left behind and that all pupils achieve Iheii own personal best. In 2024, the pass rale for
pupils with special educab.onal needs was 81%.
The School wekomed its first pupils to WyvÈrn House whth openeLI in September 2023. As a Secondary Special
Educalional Needs day sctto(A setting, Wem offers a calm environment for pupils betweèn the ages of 11-16 with
a range ol neurodiverse needs Indvding ADHD and ASD, to build confidence and piepare them for the next slage of
their educational journey_ The majority of pups'ls who attend Wem have an EHCP. but r)ol all.
Folbwing tre General Election and Ihe new Labour Govemmenfs announcement that VAT Is lo be applied to
Independent School fees from January 202S. the Sthod's finance team prepared a VAT implemenlalion plan to
ensure they were ready to issue VAT inGlusive fee invoices for the Spnng Temi and the first VAT return as at the end
of February 2025.
On 17 June 2024. the lunds and assets of MaywNe High Stho(A TTUSI were transferred to Mayville High School.
The Head Teacher, Mrs Rebecca Parkyn MA (Oxonl PGCE MCIL. NpaEL and her staff continue to provide security
and opportunities for each child so that they may undertake theif Studies and development in a safe. happy
enwronment. The Ttustees are grateful to the staff for their dedication tts the School and the way in which they
project Iotward the reputation of the school and instill Confiden￿ in the pupils who attend_ The Trustees are
lortunate to have the support of past pupils and an active PTA who assisl the *hool in many ways.

In accordance with ils charrtable objects Ihe School has Continued to offer scholarships and assisted places to
pupils who might nol otherwise benefit from the outstsnding education and faulities available at Maymlle. During the
year £289,051 {2022123 £249.8741 was awarded In means-tesled fee assisiance to 45 12022123 461 pupils. To
further broaden acces5. scholarships are awarded each year lo recognise ach*vement and contribution to the
Sthool. Seh(Aaiships worth £475.480 were awarded during the yÈar12022r23 £435.7571. to 84 pupils12022123 981.
The School has additionally supported outside charities both horne and abroad. and assisted with work in the local
c(Knwnunity.
ReseThes policy
It is the policy of Ihe charity th3t unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use should be
maintained al a level equivalent to beiween three and six month's expendrfure. The trustees con5xler that resetVè5
at this level will ensure that. in the event of a significant drop in funding. they will be able to continue the charity's
curtenl aclNrties while consideration Is given to ways in vthich addthonal funds may be raised. Th15 level of reserves
has been rnaintained throughout the year.
Plans for future periods
During the next year the school plans to continue io buikl on the St￿CeSs of Ihe Wyvern ajtemative Pfovision and
increase the number of pupils to 25.

The financial slalements are prepared in stedTrng. which is the functional currency of the charity. Monetsry
amounts in these finanaal slatements are ri)unded to the nearest £.
The financial staternents have been prepared under the historical u)st wnventson. The p￿n￿paI accounting
poliryes adopted are set out below.

has adequate resources to conb.nue in operational existence for the foreseeable fLrture. Thus the trustees

1.4 Income
Income is recognised when the charity is legaly entrtled to it after any perfomiance conditions have been met,
the amounts can be measured reliabty. and it is probable thai inwme will be received.
Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donations are recognised once Ihe charity has been notified
ol the donation. unless perfomiance condits"on5 require deferral of the amount. Income tax recoverable In
relalion to donations recewed under G[ft￿d or deeds of ¢J)veRant is recognised at the ts'me of the donatK)n.
Don8led goods are measured at thei* fair value. unle55 irnpiactical to Measure the lair value reliably. Goods
donated for on-going use by a chatty in carrying out its activities are recognised as tangib￿ fixèd assets with

and developmental delay or SEND. The fvnding is for usè in Ihe early year5 and is paid to the School to
support the children's identified needs.
On fj Qctober 2022. the School received a donatron tolalling £405.482 from a Trust. Th15 donation was
received for the purposes of the development of Ihe DLEU b4JddRigs al the Scho(A and was nol available for
general use.
These funds W￿￿ spent in f￿[ in the prior year on the new buildlng 24 St Simon's Road. for the purpose of the
