by the CharityCommissionon publicbenefit.Toxicologyis the scienceof diseaseinducedby chemicalspresentin the
diet,medicines,andintheenvironment.TheBritishToxicologySociety(BTS)isaleadinginternational toxicology
society,basedonthehighestqualityscience,andpromotestheadvancement,communicationandunderstanding of
the scientific disciplines necessary to foster public health and environmental safety.

and researching the various activities and development of the Society, who report to the Executive Committee.

Statutesfor the workingsof the varioussub-committeesare continuallybeingrevisedand updatedto ensurethat the
termsofreferenceareclearlydefinedandthewaysofworkingareconsistent.Thisalsoenablestransparency of
committeeelectionsanddurationof membership,whileallowingthecommitteesto worktoagreedaims,backed up
by comprehensive set of Standard Operating Procedures for the Society.

ThetrusteeshaveassessedthemajorriskstowhichtheSocietyisexposed,inparticularthoserelatedto the
operations and finances of the Society, and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to major risks.
All of the officers and members who serve on the Society'scommitteesare unpaid.They are entitledto be reimbursed
for any out of pocket expenses incurred in attending meetings.
