**Objects:** FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC TO CONSERVE OR ASSIST IN THE CONSERVATION OF ALL FORMS OF WILD LIFE, FLORA AND FAUNA, IN THE BASILDON DISTRICT AND ITS IMMEDIATE SURROUNDINGS, TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC WITHIN THE AREA OF BENEFIT IN ALL FLORA AND FAUNA AND MATTERS RELATING THERETO AND TO PROMOTE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF WILD LIFE AND NATURE RESERVES WITHIN THE AREA OF BENEFIT.(FOR FURTHER DETAILS SEE CLAUSE 2 OF THE CONSTITUTION).

**Activities:** Holds regular lectures in natural history subjects; practical conservation work parties; monitors and records local wildlife; monitors potential effect of local planning applications on wildlife; supports the work of Essex Wildlife Trust.
