PFA trustees annual report for 2024/2025
PFA (Parent’s & Friend’s Association) is a registered charity (number 285714) with the sole aim to raise funds for activities and equipment to enhance the learning experience of the students at Sponne School.
Sponne is a comprehensive secondary school in Towcester -Northamptonshire. The charity constitutes of a group of teachers and parents who organise various events and activities during the school year to raise funds. All the charity trustees and members are volunteers; the charity does not own premises or any generating income assets.
All our charity work is local to the school area and the charity mostly benefits from the generosity of local trades and community.
During 2024/2025 financial year, PFA main income came from the time spent volunteering during Silverstone Grand Prix car park event.
PFA organised a Treasure Trove competition, tickets were sold in Sept/Oct time and the winner of £30 was drawn every month for the rest of the financial year.
PFA organised Christmas and Easter raffles with donated prizes.

PFA provided refreshments during school events like Christmas and Easter concerts (bar income).
PFA also organised a successful event: the Christmas cards and bauble decorating night just before Christmas 2024.
PFA also benefitted from donations from Tesco, Co-op , Drax, Northamptonshire community fund and from Greens Norton village trust fund. We also benefitted from Easyfundraising website donations.
PFA also sold tickets to students, parents, friends and carers for Sponne musical and drama events, these incomes are donated directly to music and drama department respectively.
All the PFA profits go directly to Sponne school. During 2024/2025 financial year PFA worked to raise funds towards a new school minibus, PFA only aims to keep a minimum of £2000 in the charity current account and to donate any surplus to Sponne school.
