THE FRANCISCAN AID FUND
I report on the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 30 September 2021 which are set out on
pages 2 to 6.
Respective responsibiliti¢s of trustees and examiner
The Gharity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year in a¢¢ordan¢¢ with the
Charities Act 2011 (the Act) and that an inde[￿ent eX￿ni￿atiOn is needed.
It is my reswnsibility to- _
Examine the a￿oUnts (under section 145 of the act as amended);
To follow the procedur￿ laid down in the Generdl Direction5 given by tbe cFLaTity
Commission (under section 145(5Kb) of the act as amended); and
To state whether particular matter5 have come to my attention
Basis of Independellt exatDiuers report
My &xamination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity
Commission. An examination includes a review of th¢ accounting ￿ordS kept by the ¢harity gnd
a cOmp￿150n of the a¢eounts present￿ with tlM)se records. It also irEcludes consideration of any
unusual item5 or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explaDatiODS from the trustees
concerning any such matt￿. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence tbat
would require in an audil and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.

How Our Activities Deliver Public Benefrt
Our main activities and who we ty to help are des¢rikd below.
The main area of charitable woR* is to giv¢ grants to iThJividu8ls and organisations to Trlieve
poverty and advance education. primarily in the world's poorest countries.
The object of th¢ Charity is to ffli¢v¢ povffj and advance ￿uCatIo￿ primarily in the world's
orest countries.
Review of tbe
During the year the Charity gross re¢eipts for 2021 were £55,736 (2020 - £163,416), the charity
h&s made grants of £97,074 (2020- £74.330)
The total paymcnts for the year of £9&535 (2020 - £77.628) tesulted in a dcficit of £41799 {2020
- surplus £85,788). This deficit is accounted for by the fact that in the Y￿ to )0 September 2021
we re¢eiv¢d no bquesls at all. whereas Én the previous year we had receiv&J bwuests totalliDg
£108.158.
