The financial statements have be8n prepared on the accounting policies set OLrt in Note 1 of the financial statements and comply with the Charity's Trust Deed, applicable law and the requirement of the SORP "Accounting and Reporting by Charities" (FRS 102) issued In 2015 and the Charities Act 2011. The Charity has taken advantsge of the concessions afforded to smaller charities in respeet of presentation and disclosure in those financial statements. STRUCTURE. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT The Charity is governed by a Trust Deed dated 17th February 1982 which authorises the Board of Trustees lo perfonn the objects of the Trust. The recruitmen( appointment and training of new Trustees are conducted by exisiing Trustees. OBJECTIVES OF THE CHARITY The Norrrban Taylor Educational arbd Aid for the Elderly Trust was established in 1982 to make grants to the David Ta￿or Housing Trust for Elderly and Retired Persons Iregislered Charity number 2361021 lo assist il in carrying out its objective of maintaining Abington Lodge and the land around it as a residential homestead for elderly and retired and the provision of homes for such people. Secondly. the Trustees are empowered to assist with education gTanls for people in the Borough of Northamptonshire and the Borough of Arbroalh. PUBLIC BENEFIT All of the Charity's activities are undertaken to ￿rther our charitable purpose for the benefit of the public. The Trustees have had regard lo the Charity Commission guidance on public benefit in section four of the Charities Act 2011. The main benefits which have arisen during the year from the organisation's aims and activities are detsiled in the following sections and in the financial review. REVIEW OF THE DEVELOPMENT, ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS DURING THE YEAR Mr. David Norman Taylor in his lifetime established two Charitable Trusls. He was an unmarried man and had no children. His wish was lo ensure that his land and property al Abington Lodge. Northampton and his olhgr inveslmenlg should be utilised after his death through Charilable Trusts for the benefit of elderlyand retired people. The David Taylor Housing Trust ovvns the land and property. The Aid for the Elderly Trust owns the investments. From the latter Trust, tt was also possible to provide educational grants for resrdents of the Borough of Northampton and the Borough of Arbroalh. To aid the admlnislralion over the years since Mr. Taylor's death, the Charitable Trusts have been run effectively as one. As per a Charity Commission inslruclion, separate annual accounts are prepared for each Charity. The David Taylor Housing Trust has continued to hold the land and property and to work with East Midlands Housing Association and SoLrth Court Environmental to ensure that this is available and maintained for the benefit of the residents of Abington Lodge in accordance with the instructions left by Mr. D. N. Taylor. The Educational Trust has made the final payment of a thra8 year grant awarded to a student at university, but has not made any further edlrcational awards in the current financial year. In accordance with their charitable objectives the Trustee8 have ulilised the monies from their investments to support the resident elderly and retired people of Abington lodge FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR THE YEAR The financial slalemenls for the year ended 5th April 2025 show a deficit of £18,798 {2024- surplus £30,796) in lolal funds,. this includes reallsed profits orb the sale of investments of £8.319 (2024 - profils £5,466). Unrealised losses on revaluation of investments were £7.3821£2024- profits £53.4511. POLICY ON RESERVES The Trustees consider that the unrestricted general fund £1.162,895 at 5th April 2025 12024 £1,181,693) is sufficient lo sustain its operats'ons should income generating activities be curtailed unexpectedly over the forthcoming year.

THE NORMAN TAYLOR EDUCATIONAL AND AID FOR THE ELDERLY TRUST Page 3 REGISTERED CHARITY NUM8ER: 284859 REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES - CONTINUED INVESTMENT POLICY Rowan Dartington, as Independent Financial Advisers, continued to manage the portfolio and ensure that the income of the Trust is maximised whilst safeguarding as far as possible the capital investments of the Charity. RISK ASSESSMENT POLICY The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the Charity is exposed, in particular those related lo the operations and finances of the Charity, and are satisfied that systems are in place lo mitigate their exposure lo the major risks. PLANS FOR FUTURE PERIODS The Charty's future plans include the continued support of the elderly residing in the properties at Abington Lodge, and lo assist in the pmvision of facilities and aid for elderly and retired people in Northampton. When appli¢anls arise. to consider the support of children wanting lo go on lo further educalion in accordance with the objectives of the Charfty. TRUSTEES RESPONSIBILITIES The Tlustees are responsible for preparing the Ttuslees. Annual Report and the financial statements in acwrdance with applicable jaw and United TrQngdom Accounting Standards {United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounts"ng Practice). The law applicable lo Charities In England & Wales requires the Trustees lo prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Charity and of the incoming resources and application of resourGe5 of the Charity for Ihal period. In prepaiing these financial statements, the Tfustees are required to=. select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently- observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP- make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent., slate whèther applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements., Prepare the financial statements on the going cOn￿M basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the Charity will Gontinue in operation. The Tnjstees are responsible for maintaining prop8r accounling records which disclose with reasonable accuracy, at any lime, the financial position of the Charity and enable them to ensure that the financial stalements Gomply with Ihe Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the Trust D8ed.
