Activities

The International Duke Elder Medal was endowed by Lady Duke Elder in 1980. The Fund provides for the medal an oration and associated expenses. The medal is awarded 4 yearly to an ophthalmologist who has contributed most to the development of international relations and friendship between ophthalmologists, and who has advanced the field by contributions in writing and organization in ophthalmology.

Objects: Endowment Of A Lecture To Be A Review Of Current Research On The Eye, A Medal To Be Awarded To An Opthamologist Who Has Contributed Most To The Development Of The Practice Of And Research In Opthalmology, And Where Funds Allow, The Trustees Will Also Make Small Grants To Other Charitable Organisations Whose Objects Include Research Into And The Improvement Of Eye Health Internationally.
